Let me begin this review by explaining that I had an EXTREMELY rough case to overcome due to an unrelated attorney I had hired prior to Mr. Kelley. My case was also very unique in its level of difficulty in general, so that also added to the likelihood that I would not see a successful outcome. At ...the recommendation of the PBA, I retained Kelley Law Group and was consulted by Mr. Kelley on a different direction he thought we should take in relation to my case. He was upfront and honest with me in his belief that my case may not be winnable due to several errors made by others and myself prior. He was NOT there just to take my money...he appeared 100% compassionate (Workers Comp really put me through the ringer!) and wanted nothing more than to get me the desired outcome I wanted and rightfully deserved. In 2006, while working as a patrol officer, I had a heart attack on the job. This led to several weeks in the hospital and months of recovery. The City I work for denied my claim under the Heart and Lung Bill. Based upon recommendation from my union, I sought out Paul Kelley to represent me. I did no...t know it at the time, but this would turn out to be the best decision I have ever made. The city fought ruthlessly to deny my claim; so much so that at one point, I wondered if it was worth the fight. Paul assured me that it was and he was absolutely right. The city continued to deny my claim and Paul took them to court and won. Despite this, the city still denied my claim and appealed. Paul went before the appellate court in Miami, which consisted of a 3 judge panel. All three judges unanimously upheld our win in the lower court. The city now, by court order, recognizes and is responsible for my claim. Since 2006, I have had to have many heart related procedures. I had to retire medically as a police officer. Paul represented me through all of this and negotiated a transition from officer to a civilian administrative position, where I presently continue to work. In 2020, I developed severe heart failure and had to undergo an evaluation for a heart transplant. Paul again represented me throughout this very scary time. Thanks to Paul and his team, I received the medical attention that I needed in a timely manner. Luckily, I did not have to undergo transplantation at this time and am continuing to receive medical therapy. I have had the need for an attorney more than I have ever imagined that I would. I can tell you, Paul is an absolute expert pertaining to the Heart and Lung Bill and Worker's Compensation. Above all else, he is one of the nicest and most caring people you will ever meet. He has put together a team of experts. Connie, Barbara and Kristin are the best! During this recent transplant scare, they worked late hours and did whatever it took to make sure that I got what I needed medically. You absolutely cannot go wrong with choosing Paul to represent you. 14 years after choosing Paul, I still say it was the best decision I have ever made.

First what I did right; I filed a W/C claim when I experienced chest pains back in 2009. W/C accepted responsibility and paid for numerous procedures over the next seven years, what they didn't do is settle my impairment. Paul Kelley came to Broward County PBA and conducted a seminar on Employee ...Rights with Workers Compensation. The wealth of information I learned at the Seminar made me realized that I was not being treated properly with regards to my claim. After the seminar I was able to speak one on one with Paul and decided that I really needed representation. Over the past year Paul and his Firm where in constant contact and easily accessible whenever information needed to be exchanged. I felt like my case just went from inactive to active and W/C now had to answer for there failures. To keep it short, Paul Kelley handled every aspect of my case, and last week we settled for a rather surprising amount, which was about 20 times more than the original offer. If you think that you can handle your own case, DON"T!!! Paul Kelley and his staff; Barbara, Connie & Kristin are true professionals, I was always impressed with their courtesy, professionalism and knowledge of the law. Paul and his Firm kept me updated on my case and produced results. I have recommended The Paul Kelley Law Firm to several friends and would use him again if needed, he is not your typical Attorney. From the onset of taking on my case, Paul made it clear that this was my case and the decisions were mine to make (no pressure), he just made the decisions possible. Two years ago, the Dade County PBA referred me to Mr. Paul Kelley to help me deal with Heart and Lung Bill issues I was having. This review is what my experience has been with Paul Kelley and his staff (especially Barbara) at the Kelley Law Group has been. The Kelley Law Group has been amazing ...in making sure that the benefits the Dade County/Florida PBA fought to get first responders were paid. At every hiccup, they were and continue to be there for me. They were instrumental in getting procedures approved that were originally denied and benefits paid that were originally denied. Mr. Kelley and his staff's knowledge of the Heart and Lung Bill and worker's compensation laws are impressive. As a recent example and something that might be of interest to fellow first responders, I developed complications from treatment for my covered worker's comp/heart and lung bill related injuries. A routine dentist visit revealed significant decay and the dentist indicated that it was related to the use of a CPAP and hypertension medicines. The Employee/Carriers first response to was to deny those benefits. However, The Kelley Law Group was able to secure those benefits for me and I am now able to get my dental work covered under worker's comp. I can't even describe the relief that this is to me.
