Paul Anthony Kelley

Greetings, I filled a workers comp claim (heart & lung bill) after being put off of work due medical reasons my claim was denied and the reason given is that my injury was not work related. I have at least 30 years in law enforcement and during my pre-employment medical screening I did not have an...y medical issues. I was referred to the Kelley Law Group by my union to consult with for advice and possible ssistance. The experience was amazing, professional, and diligent. I experience a commitment of dedication to have overturned the denial of my claim and in addition secure monetary benefits going forward. The amount of follow up was impressive and the patience taken to explain the their process to ensure my clarity was second to none. Paul represented me in a W/C case that was ongoing through my employer for more than 14 years until I medically had to retire. Without going into too many specifics, both personal and County doctors stated in no uncertain terms that I must retire due to my health as a result of on-duty injuries. I had been denied benefits by Miami-Dade County and also denied approval of the Heart Bill, although I clearly qualified. Other tha...n the standard ambulance chasers, I was unable to find any law firms in South Florida willing to take on the County. Fortunately, I met Mr. Paul Kelley, thanks to the PBA, due to a symposium that they held at their offices regarding the Heart Bill. Mr. Kelley assured me that he would look into my situation, as he felt that I had a good case and advised me that he would like to speak to me in further detail at a later time, he then took my information down and I left. I did not hold any high hopes at the time, of receiving a return call or of having any type of positive outcome due to my previous experiences and the fact that Mr. Kelley's office was in Maitland, Fl. However, it wasn't long before I heard from Mr. Kelley and we met at an office that his firm opened in Coral Gables. He spoke to me in no uncertain terms, and we quickly became friends. Although he felt that I had a good case, he advised me of the possible pitfalls and the numerous hoops that we would have to jump, but assured me that the regardless of the outcome, he would be there with me every step of the way. Everything he stated pretty much occurred to letter almost as a script, but we persevered and I was able to retire and successfully receive the benefits that were due to me thanks in no small part to Mr. Kelley's efforts. It's been over a year since I retired after 31+ years with the County, not a month goes by that I don't think about Paul and his great assistance.
