In 2006, while working as a patrol officer, I had a heart attack on the job. This led to several weeks in the hospital and months of recovery. The City I work for denied my claim under the Heart and Lung Bill. Based upon recommendation from my union, I sought out Paul Kelley to represent me. I did no...t know it at the time, but this would turn out to be the best decision I have ever made. Paul represented me through all of this and negotiated a transition from officer to a civilian administrative position, where I presently continue to work. In 2020, I developed severe heart failure and had to undergo an evaluation for a heart transplant. Paul again represented me throughout this very scary time. Thanks to Paul and his team, I received the medical attention that I needed in a timely manner. Luckily, I did not have to undergo transplantation at this time and am continuing to receive medical therapy. I have had the need for an attorney more than I have ever imagined that I would.
