Matt Foreman is a second generation Floridian raised in Spring Hill, Florida. His educational background includes attending and graduating from Stetson University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Family Business. He subsequently received his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2008, where he was a recipient of the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award. The Florida Bar admitted Matt to practice law in 2008 and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
While in law school, Matt was a research assistant to Professor Peter F. Lake in the Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy, where he annually served as one of Professor Lake's assistants at the National Conference on Law and Higher Education. Matt also had the opportunity to serve as a legal intern to the Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel for the entities that comprise Minor League Baseball at MiLB headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Matt is currently a partner with Carter Foreman, PLLC, a full-service law firm with four attorneys, including one Board Certified Real Estate Attorney. The Firm covers a wide range of practice areas, including transactional real estate, real estate litigation, business and corporate litigation, corporate compliance and formation, family law, asset forfeiture defense, criminal law and other practice areas. For the convenience of our clients, our Firm maintains two offices (New Port Richey and Spring Hill) and consultation are held at both offices.
Matt's practice is extremely diverse as he handles matters of Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Family Law and Personal Injury, among others. Matt has experience in Civil Litigation including real estate litigation, business and contract disputes, and a broad range of other subsets of civil litigation. While at his previous firm, Matt spent a number of years as the lead asset forfeiture attorney for multiple law enforcement agencies and he has also served as the lead code enforcement attorney for a city and a county in central Florida.
In addition to his duties as an attorney, Matt previously served on the Hernando County School Board. He was appointed to the Board by Governor Rick Scott in 2011 and was later elected by the citizens of Hernando County to serve a full four year term on the Board (which ended in 2016). The Tampa Bay Times named Matt one of six "Dealmakers to Watch" in 2012. Matt has also been a member of the Board of Directors for non-profit organizations such as the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Hernando County and High Fives for Hope.
