George G. Angeliadis was born in a small suburb of Youngstown, Ohio where his father was a steelworker, and his mother was a school teacher. After graduating from high school, George and his family moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida, his mother’s hometown.
George received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of South Florida in 1991, and then attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where he earned his Juris Doctor Degree in December 1995. He was then licensed to practice law in the State of Florida in April 1996. George began his legal career serving as an Assistant State Attorney in Hernando County for four years. He then spent eighteen years in private practice with a law firm in Hernando County focusing his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, construction law, government law, criminal law, and family law. George represented many private and public clients, including the City of Crystal River, the Sumter County Board of Commissioners, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Florida Association of State Troopers, the Sumter County Tax Collector, the Hernando County Clerk, the Hernando County Sheriff and the Sumter County Supervisor of Elections. George has served as lead counsel in many jury trials, non-jury trials, and evidentiary hearings.
In 2018, after a thorough vetting process, the Governor of Florida appointed George to the position of Circuit Court Judge where he served the people of the Fifth Judicial Circuit (Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, and Sumter Counties) with distinction until January 2021. As a Circuit Judge, George presided over civil jury and non-jury trials, family law cases, probate cases, and the Hernando County Specialty Courts, which include Veterans Treatment Court, Mental Health Court, and Drug Treatment Court.
In addition to his service as an attorney and judge, George has also been involved in many community-related organizations outside of the courtroom, including the Citrus-Hernando Inn of Court (past president), the Hernando County Bar Association (past president), the Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, the Hernando County Sheriff Office Youth Education Services Program, the Spring Hill Kiwanis Club, the Brooksville Rotary Club, the Hernando County Teen Court Program, the Fifth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, the Coastal Conservation Association, and the Parish Council of his church. George has also been heavily involved with the First Hernando Youth Soccer Club, serving as its President/Commissioner for almost ten years and a coach for almost twenty years (2000-2020). George has been married to his wife Stacey for over 28 years and is the proud father of two children.
George has spent almost twenty-five years in the courtrooms of Florida becoming proficient as an advocate. He has also become a leader in the community by becoming active in many organizations. This diverse experience is what makes George a great addition to Lucas, Macyszyn & Dyer Law Firm team, and he looks forward to helping clients with their litigation needs.
