For myself I would have rather fought my case alone without the lawyers help. He charged me 40% and to make matters worse ended up taking more money from me than initially agreed upon which was a 32% with no reason given as to why the percentage was increased as well as without my consent. Out of all... the attorneys available in Naples, I just happened to fall upon the worst one. I now know why he doesn't have many clients. If I had to give him a rate from 1-10 I would no doubt rate him a -1. Also two years ago, they didn't want to settle the case for $37,000 because of his negligence now they settle it for $30,000. He stayed with with $13,000 and I got $7,667 back. He is the worst attorney I've had the tragedy of meeting.
