Katherine Christie Neal

About me

Katherine was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up throughout the United States and overseas as an “Army Brat”.  She learned the value of hard work and commitment to excellence from her father, a Brigade Commander and Colonel in the United States Army.  Mrs. Neal received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University in 2002 and her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2004. Mrs. Neal is a Florida Board Certified Civil Trial lawyer. To our knowledge, she is the youngest Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer in the history of the State of Florida.

While in law school, Mrs. Neal served as a judicial intern for County Court Judge Shawn Crane, and was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Judicial Intern for the Sixth Circuit State Attorney’s Office. She won the St. Petersburg Times Award for the Best Competition Paper and was a senior associate of The Stetson Law Review.  Mrs. Neal also served as a Stetson Ambassador, wherein she assisted new law students as a mentor and advisor.  Mrs. Neal began working as a law clerk for Carey Leisure & Neal while still in law school and, upon graduation, became an attorney with the firm. She was made a Partner in January 2008. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and focuses in the fields of personal injury, wrongful death, and funeral home and crematory malpractice.

Mrs. Neal is a co-author of a personal injury book entitled “A Conversation with Our Clients” and is also the host of a weekly radio show, “Lawyers with Purpose”, which airs every Friday at 5:00pm on “Inspiration” AM 1110.

Mrs. Neal and her husband are the proud parents of two young daughters and are in the process of adopting an orphan. In her spare time, Mrs. Neal teaches a "Jobs for Life" course, counseling unemployed and underemployed individuals in her community. She also volunteers in the newborn nursery at her church, and enjoys organizing social activities between preschoolers and senior citizens at a local assisted living facility.

I most certainly endorse Katy. I have worked for her since April, 2015, and can attest to her abilities as a trial lawyer. Katy has the unique ability to connect and communicate with people, a skill often overlooked in our industry. She maintains an approachable demeanor while simultaneously representing her clients with relentless effort and unparalleled advocacy. Katy's knowledge of Florida law coupled with her skills in applying it in any given case is what defines her competence as a trial lawyer. She is truly a champion of justice.
