Probation issued in FL, 2010

updated on 02/09/2015

Probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The Bar monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Joseph’s comment:

“Sadly, the therapy session group from the first discipline had serious conflicts with my religious beliefs. Only after the court became involved was I offered a religious accommodation of paying for a private therapist. Read the referee's report I was in good faith and cooperative with the Bar. I thank Bar counsel and the referee for working with me in crafting an accommodation that avoided religious imposition. I work every day to be a good attorney worthy of their trust.”

Public Reprimand - with Conditions issued in FL, 2007

updated on 02/09/2015

Public reprimand means the attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The Bar warns the lawyer in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior and places conditions on the lawyer's license.

Joseph’s comment:

“With little experience running a business,I took on too many cases and became physically and emotionally exhausted. Type A behavior. I stopped communicating with some clients and the Bar. I was cooperative with the Bar, took responsibility by a consent judgment and agreed to group session therapy, and was given a reprimand. I've grown from the experience and don't over reach. I thank the court and Bar for their assistance.”

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2010
