I fill the following roles in providing service to my clients: Intervenor, Investigator, Negotiator, Litigator, and Advisor.

Intervenor: Some cases can be resolved before the State Attorney files formal charges. In order to accomplish this, I intervene at an early stage and try persuade the prosecutor to dismiss or reduce the charges. 

Investigator: I gather relevant information from a variety of sources, including my clients, their witnesses, police reports, evidence lists, video and audio recordings, experts, and depositions. I also utilize an experienced private investigator when circumstances warrant.

Negotiator: I draw upon my past experience in criminal trial law in order to negotiate the best possible results for my clients.  It is my practice to attempt to resolve cases before trial, whenever that is reasonably possible. 

Litigator: If a case cannot be successfully resolved by dismissal or plea bargain, then I stand ready and able to represent my clients at trial.  I have tried numerous cases in over 30 years of practice and I regularly attend trial practice seminars in order to ensure that I stay on the cutting edge of the most recent developments in criminal trial law.

Advisor: I strive to communicate frequently and effectively with each and every client.  It is my belief that one of the single, most important services that an attorney can provide his clients is to keep them very informed of the status of their case and the options that they have.
