Good lawyer

Filed bankruptcy with him. Spoke personaly with him and they filled out all paperwork. When ever I needed to see him I was able to make an appointment to see him. Made process smooth and simple, quieting my worries and misconceptions.

Bankrupt

He is not a responsible professional, do not answer phone calls, and do not reply back the messages, voice-mails or texts. In order that he answers a simple question you need to make an appointment and go to his office. In addition, he do not file the documentations when he say he will. I payed my pr...ocess 4+ months ago and he did not filed the paper. I have to call so many times and he just give excuse when I show up in the office with appointments. When you are a client, the receptionist will tell you that he do not speak by phone and you need a face to face appointment to speak with him.

Error in Bankruptcy Advice caused me to give up my car

After filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, this attorney told me both my car loan and credit card from the credit union were intermingled; therefore, if I decided to keep my car, I would also owe the amount of the credit card balance. I was later informed by the credit union (after I decided to give up ...my car) that this was not true. As a result I was without a car until a family member was able to drive long distance with a replacement. I would have been able to make arrangements with family members to arrange a pay off for my car. In all other matters, this attorney appeared knowledgeable but will not hire him again. His office is now closed on Hanley Road in Tampa. I will also be reporting his behavior to the state bar association. I did give him a "Fair" rating but wonder if it should be a poor one.

I am sorry that you feel that way. You should have contacted me with your doubts. Unfortunately the person at the credit union did not provide you with the correct information. Your credit union credit card and auto loan were both a lien on your vehicle (cross collateral). Therefore, if you wanted to continue to pay for the car loan after your bankruptcy they would have charged you the amount of your car loan plus the credit card debt up to the full amount of the value for the vehicle. That is the information I provided you and you decided that you did not want to pay that amount for the car. This scenario is not the same when you are talking about regular banks or other financing institutions.
