Ricardo Martinez

Ricky Martinez is a former Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy and Assistant State Attorney in Tampa, Florida.  In 2011, he started his own practice helping clients facing criminal or traffic charges through an often complicated court process.  He understands the importance of fighting for an individual's rights an will work diligently to defend your case.

     He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in Interdisciplinary Social Science in 1998.  He enrolled in the Police Academy at Hillsborough Community College and earned his law enforcement certification.  In 1999, he was appointed as a Deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.  As a Deputy, he gained invaluable experience serving as a patrol deputy.  He took specialized courses in Criminal Law Investigations, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Interviews and Interrogations, and Drug Trafficking Interdiction.  After spending many hours testifying in court as a Deputy, he decided to attend law school. 

     He attended Stetson University College of Law to continue his pursuit in the criminal justice field and interned at the State Attorney's Office in Tampa as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After graduating from Stetson Law, he joined the State Attorney's Office in Tampa as a prosecutor.  While at the State Attorney's Office, Mr. Martinez was able to bring his law enforcement experience to the courtroom where he prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases from 2006 to 2010. He has conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials. 

     His experience in the criminal justice system has allowed him the opportunity to diligently and effectively represent clients in the area of criminal law.  He is dedicated to assisting clients through a difficult legal process when facing criminal charges.
