Cost me everything

I hired All Family Law Group having a relocation issue with my ex. Ginger Dugan was assigned to my case. She was good but left on maternity leave and I was reassigned to Monica DaSilva. The case lingered in for an exceptionally long time costing thousands and thousands of dollars to the point I simpl...y ran out of money. I learned a lot about the legal system having to represent myself and how things work eventually getting to the trial. Come to find out, the whole thing was a waste of time due to the fact that one simple filing was not made while I was represented by All Family Law Group. A simple response to a request for admissions. I have the emails where I asked what the request for admissions was after seeing it online on the docket and my email stating how I wished it to be responded. Obviously it was never done and became a deciding factor at the trial. This cost me everything including thousands of dollars of spent legal fees and more importantly the relationship with my son. I reached out on several occasions seeking resolution to the errors made and all I received were arguments that nothing wrong was done. Clearly it was. I write this today, as my son is graduating from high school. I am not attending as his mother’s spitefulness still continues and no resolution was made while paying thousands of dollars to All Family Law Group and eventual outcome at trial due to mistakes made by this firm. I have spoken to several attorneys who have said how careless of an error was made in my case but yet All Family Law still denies having done wrong. How can this be? People make mistakes and I totally understand that, but continuing to blame the client is just wrong when the reason I hired them was to represent me. I even have an email from Monica saying “you knew you had to respond”. Guess what I was still represented by All Family so it was All Family that needed to respond not me! I can only imagine it was a heavy case load or something that simply just slipped through the cracks but either way, not what I paid thousands of dollars to have happen. I hope this helps at least one person from making the same mistake I did hiring All Family Law Group or Monica DaSilva. Yes I have attempted on several occasions to resolve this but all I got was trying to steer the blame towards me instead of taking responsibility for the neglect given to my case. Again, today I miss out on another moment in my sons life. Thanks All Family Law Group, NOT!!

Unavailable

Monica was unavailable whenever I had questions or needed help. For that reason, the opposing party gained a lot of ground and I was placed in a bad position. I feel if she could communicate more with her clients, she could be a better candidate as an attorney. Unfortunately, I had to move on to anot...her attorney for my custody case.

I'm sorry to hear your concerns. Most client communicate with me via email and I try to make myself available 24/7 (including nights, weekends and holidays) and respond to client questions and inquiries at all times of the day, so I'm very surprised that you state I was unavailable when you had a question. Unfortunately, I am not always able to respond to emails immediately due to my schedule, but I make a concerted effort to read and reply to all emails and phone messages as soon as reasonably possible. I apologize for the miscommunication. Please contact me directly as I would like to discuss this further with you.

Felling ignored

Unfortunately my experience was not as I expected it to be, I don't tend to voice my opinion but maybe this will help to be better with future clients. The lack of communication with my attorney was frustrating and difficult, I had to seek advise and counsel elsewhere and even with my ex wife attorne...y. It was over a week when I finally had a response to a question but by then it was too late, my ex and her lawyer had already answered them. In occasions I had my ex call me asking to please ask my attorney to respond to her lawyer as well. Sadly, full payment were already paid and as stressful and frustrating as it was, at that time I was not going to bring the situation up to Da Silva in fear of being ignored even more. I hope that in the future she would be more sensitive and attentive to her clients simple and sometime obvious questions.

I'm very sorry you had a bad experience with our firm. I strive for the utmost client satisfaction in every case and prioritize communication with all of my clients. Unfortunately, sometimes I am unable to respond to all client questions and emails immediately and it does, occasionally, take up to one week for a response. Of course, I understand that there are often time sensitive matters that must be addressed immediately. I also try to be very respectful of my client's lives and obligations and understand that they also cannot respond to my requests immediately. Please contact me directly to discuss your specific concerns and I would be happy to explain and discuss everything in more detail.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I highly endorse Monica Da Silva! She has been a phenomenal attorney in all of the cases in which she was opposing counsel. She communicated with our office timely and worked to resolve the issues in the cases amicably. I cannot say enough good things about what I have seen of her representation of her clients. Again, I highly endorse this attorney."
