I never thought I would see the light of day with my divorce. I was completely naive to the whole experience and knew that it was going to be a very contested divorce. After I consulted and hired Monica, I was very confident and hopeful that it could be done. Monica used her experienced and expertise... to walk me through the process and she exceeded my expectations. She wrote a pre-mediation and trial agreement for both sides as a starting point (negotiation) on us settling our differences. I actually found her by accident, but because she was upfront and explained how the case could go, I immediately scheduled an appointment and retained her. I can't say enough about working with Monica. Going through a divorce is one of the most stressful, emotionally draining trials you can endure and having the right attorney can make all the difference. From day one Monica was on top of my case. She was not just interested in her fee. We were a team, ...and she cared. I admit to being a difficult client at times, and she handled me calmly with class but she got results. If she wasn't sure about some complex point of law, she didn't guess she went to her library or picked up the phone and got an answer. She helped me think outside the box with a possible adoption issue and helped me get the best possible financial settlement with the least amount of expense. When it comes to responsiveness, Monica returns calls and emails THE SAME DAY and even over the weekend. She consistently went above and beyond the call of duty even when I was upset by some action of my former spouse. She kept us on target with our end goal in mind when I would lose sight of it. She was compassionate but would bear teeth at the opposing side when necessary but only when necessary. Monica truly subscribes to the principal of catching more flies with honey than salt. She stopped my divorce from dragging into the mud and going from uncontested to VERY contested more times than I can count yet would not let us be taken advantage of or mistreated. I say we because that's how it felt, we were a team working in my best interest, and she never swayed from that. I could trust her completely and still do. I felt comfortable knowing she was on my side, and she didn't judge, she just advised and cautioned against certain actions that would have been sure to turn things uglier. I'm sure Monica works with men as well but for a woman looking for a divorce attorney she is who you want. She's always nice, always professional, always on your side even when you're your worst enemy. Loyalty is important to me and I don't intend to need a divorce attorney but Monica will always be my first choice, even now that my divorce is over I'm staying with her for dealing with any issues that come up later, and I expect that they will.
