I became a member of the Florida Bar in 1993 over 26 years ago. I have been concentrating my practice on Family law for over 14 years. I am a Florida Supreme Court Family Mediator and a Guardian Ad Litem. I am a former prosecutor, and served as an Assistant State Attorney for over 7 years. I also served as Assistant Staff Counsel for the Florida Bar in the department for lawyer discipline.
I grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida. My dad is a Prosthodontist, and my mom has her own jewelry business. Most of the jewelry I wear was made by my mother. My parents are still working at age 75, and they have been married for over 55 years. I attended North Shore High School (public school), where I was on the swim team, a member of the chorus, and a cheerleader. Coming from a family of GATORS, I attended the University of Florida, and majored in Real Estate and Urban Development. I actually started my legal career as a legal secretary in a Real Estate Law firm. I attended law school at the University of Miami School of Law. I met my husband through a mutual law school friend, and we have been married since May 5, 1996. We have two amazing daughters, who are both following their dreams to become professional dancers. Dani is graduating this year from University of Florida with a BFA degree in Dance, and a BS degree in Digital Arts and Science. Sami is attending FSU and she is working toward a BFA degree in Dance. Yes, we have a house divided! Thanksgiving weekend is always interesting. But, I have really enjoyed supporting both Florida schools. Both my girls attended Blake High School for the Arts, and Progress Village Middle Magnet School for the Arts. I was very involved with my children's after schooll activities and school programs, and felt it was one of the best decisions I made sending them to magnet schools. These schools helped shaped them into incredibly talented and accomplished young adults.
I started my career as an Assistant State Attorney. It was my childhood dream to be a prosecutor, and I really enjoyed that position. I prosecuted cases from misdemeanors to sex crimes. As a prosecutor, I not only developed litigation skills, but I also learned to work with families who were faced with traumatic situations. This experience gave me a solid background to become a family law attorney. I have primarily represented family law clients since 2006. My ability to negotiate and write effectively have also led to my skills as a Family Mediator and Guardian Ad Litem.

Great attorney
I had a custody case, that eventually we just settled on, but Monica helped me with it the whole way. She was very good at getting things done in time, very efficient. She’s very honest with expectations and she knows exactly what she’s doing. You just let her know what you want, she will let you kno...

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome
I never thought I would see the light of day with my divorce. I was completely naive to the whole experience and knew that it was going to be a very contested divorce. After I consulted and hired Monica, I was very confident and hopeful that it could be done. Monica used her experienced and expertise...

Great job
I hired Monica Frost after my previous lawyer suffered from a medical issue. I actually found her by accident, but because she was upfront and explained how the case could go, I immediately scheduled an appointment and retained her. Monica worked with me on my case from the summer of 2014 till the ...

Like to mediate because too timid for court
Mrs. Frost is a knowledgeable and principled attorney. She is admittedly good, as long as you go to mediation and can handle everything there. Once there is some conflict in your case, or if the case becomes too contentious, she is not a good advocate. After arguing on my behalf, she changed her opi...
I believe my role as a family law attorney is to give my clients an honest view of how I believe a court will rule on their case. It is not my job to be a cheerleader or a talking piece for the client. My job is to advise. There are times when a client doesn’t like to hear that their position is wrong. But, I believe it is better to hear it from me, then to lose in court after expensive litigation. This client has chosen to criticize me, rather than accept culpability.
"I highly recommend Ms. Frost. She is an excellent attorney who brings a combination of compassion and determination to any case. She is highly skilled and knowledgeable, with more than twenty years of experience. I would trust her with my legal problem without hesitation, and that is the highest endorsement I can give!"
"I endorse this attorney. I have known Monica for years as a family law attorney and had the pleasure of working with Monica for approximately 2 years. "I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Monica many times over the years and she is always an ethical and zealous advocate for her clients. Monica practices with the utmost professionalism and an example for all of us in the community."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have gone against Monica on several occasions and she is super professional, cares for her clients, takes a position that you can respect, and in the end has a real passion for what happens ultimately with the children in the matter. I am happy to call her a friend and colleague."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have mediated for Ms. Frost many, many times for a number of years. Ms. Frost is always prepared, and has clearly always has meaningful communications with her clients in advance of mediation to ensure the client is prepared. She knows the law and ensures her clients are very well informed as to the range of possibilities the Court process may provide, and the strengths/weaknesses of their case. In short, Ms. Frost provides her clients with the tools necessary for the client to make an informed decision. Ms. Frost zealously advocates for her clients will maintaining professionalism."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have had many cases with Monica as the opposing attorney both currently and in the past. I think she is knowledgeable, detail oriented and her heart is in the right place for this type of work. She always puts her clients’ needs first and not her fee. I have recommended her numerous times in the past and will continue to do so."
"I endorse this lawyer. Monica is a dedicated, hard working and smart lawyer prepared to take a case to trial, or resolve a case at mediation, always thinking in the best interests of her client."
"I endorse this lawyer. Monica is a compassionate skilled attorney with many years of experience in family law. I have had cases with her as the opposing counsel and found her to be a competent attorney and very professional."
