Not blown away

Wasn't blown away. Hired Justin to handle my bankruptcy, yet a different lawyer showed to my 341 hearing, very poor return communication follow-up. He was cheaper than others and I could see why.

Posted by True | November 10, 2015 | Hired Attorney | Bankruptcy & Debt

Doesn't return phone calls or emails.

While my bankruptcy was handled efficiently - Justin and his staff were extremely slow to return phone calls and repeated email requests for various follow up. I signed a letter of attestation to keep my car and home out of the bankruptcy. While the car was taken care of properly the house was NOT.... I recently applied to refinance in my name (4 years have passed) only to discover from my lender the house, WAS included in my bankruptcy and NONE of my payments in last 4 years are showing up on my credit report!? I also referred my husband to Justin's firm for bankruptcy and tax issues. Bankruptcy handled OK but to this day...4 years later NO ONE will return a call or email with regards to tax issue they were working on! This after paying $1000 to begin handling the process. Who does this??????? Coming from a family if doctors and lawyers - I can honestly say PASS on this firm! True Kelly-Martin

Fails to call or return e-mails regarding important concerns on my case.

My husband and I filed a Chapter 13 case almost two years, everything is going good with the payments and I have no complaints here, but we have a concern about our Federal Tax Refund for 2014 and my husband and I have made a lot of calls to his office and sent him e-mails, but no response at all. W...e need the tax refund to pay for car repairs that are absolutely necessary and we have not received our refund from the IRS yet. We are in a temporary fix and we needed Justin to file a motion with the courts to keep our refund for necessary repairs on our vehicles. Justin would keep in communication at least through e-mails but now he refuses to do that.

Do Not Recommend unless you want to wait and wait

I hired Justin more than 3 years ago. The case was originally a chapter 7, but after the Courts wanted me to pay too much money, he recommended conversion to Chapter 13. After no work on the case, the court fined him and eventually he told me that the Trustee wanted me to pay even more money back t...han I would have paid in the Chapter 7. He recommended that we stop the chapter 13 (after I had paid almost 10k to the Trustee), and go back to Chapter 7. Since that time, I have not been able to get him to respond to emails, phone calls or anything else. Now the creditors are hounding me again, and I have no money to pay them. If he would respond to emails or phone calls, maybe I would have a bit more confidence that he would do a good job. Right now, he has left me out to dry.

Not Recommended as a Bankruptcy Lawyer

Mr Pikramenos was hired to provide legal help with a bankruptcy case chapter 13. During this time he was either late to hearings or failed to show. His paperwork to the court was incomplete and often lost. This required him to continually ask for documents previously provided. I would call a week... or so before the hearings and ask if he needed anything else. His reply was always everything is fine. When the hearings came the court would ask again for missing paperwork. After a final warning from the court that they were going to dismiss my case and sue me for abusing the process did he finally complete the paperwork. The next phase was the confirmation hearing. Again, I was assured all would be fine and the agreed plan would go thru. Well needless to say it did not go thru as presumed. The trustee modified the plan. I guess Mr Pikramenos did not get the memo and inform me of the new plan. There is other work that still needs to be done and he fails to return phone calls or emails. I was reading a previous review which Mr. Pikramenos states that his office returns phone and email request within 24 hours. I think in my case it is closer to 24 weeks from my first of numerous calls/emails and still counting. If you choose to hire Mr Pikramenos, good luck to you. I think you will need it. In summary: Quick to collect money, poor record keeping , poor submitting required paperwork in timely manner, poor follow through, poor communication. Just poor work in general. The ole saying goes.... Hiring an attorney is either the best decision or worst decision made. I without a doubt think it was the later.

I am not sure who this client is, but as any attorney knows a chapter 13 undergoes a series of confirmation hearings and the trustee seeks changes and updated information along the way. Many times the attorneys and the trustees speak before the confirmation hearings and resolve issues or agree to follow up at later dates and therefore alleviate the need to attend the confirmation hearings. Any confirmation of a case that is obtained is a result of successful negotiation based on the facts and circumstances of the case. The fact that this case was confirmed is a sign of a successful case. When the case is confirmed, I do send out correspondence from my office in several forms. I also have many clients who believe that things do not go as planned because many times my clients present me with expenses that are too high for them to justify thereby requiring that they adjust their spending habits and pay additional to their creditors. I am always confident in telling my clients that their expenses are high but if they have a demonstrable and reasonable need for those expenses than we can justify them. Many times, for example, I will have a client who tells me that they have $500-600 per month in medical bills but can only justify about $100. The ole saying goes, "Help me, Help you".
