Hernando practices in the area of immigration, workers' compensation and personal injury.
Hernando's immigration practice includes helping clients with family and employment visa applications, clients in removal proceedings and those clients interested in becoming United States citizens. In addition to immigration law, Hernando has extensive experience in the area of workers' compensation law. Prior to joining Brewer Perotti Martinez-Monfort, he represented large employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation matters. Since the joining the firm he has devoted his practice 100% to representing only individuals who have been injured at work. Hernando also represents clients in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle and slip and fall accidents.
Hernando is a long time resident of Tampa and a graduate of Jesuit High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida with a focus on Latin American history. After graduating from the University of Florida, Hernando traveled to Bogota, Colombia where he lived for a year and a half. While there, Hernando enrolled at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana where he continued his Latin American studies and worked on improving his Spanish speaking skills.
Hernando received a juris doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While there he served as the president of the Spanish American Law Student Association (SALSA).
Prior to joining Brewer Perotti Martinez-Monfort PA in July of 2008, Hernando worked with the law firm of Barbas Koenig Nunez Sanders & Butler in Tampa. There he gained valuable experience in the areas of workers' compensation and personal injury law and was the sole attorney handling immigration matters for the firm.
Hernando is a member of Florida and Hillsborough County Bar as well as a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Hernando enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, bicycling and swimming.
