Stephen Michael Barbas

Mr. Barbas is a Florida Bar Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Lawyer. He attended Stetson University, where he was elected to membership in the Phi Society sponsored by Phi Beta Kappa. He was also a member of the Sigma Nu Social Fraternity. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University, New Orleans in 1979 where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and was a published member of the Loyola Law Review.

Mr. Barbas has been admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals (Fifth and Eleventh Circuits) and the United States District Court (Middle District of Florida). He is an Assistant City Lawyer for the City of Tampa.

Mr. Barbas has been recognized as one of Florida’s Elite Lawyers by Florida Trend Magazine and Tampa Bay’s Top Lawyer by Tampa Bay Magazine.

Mr. Barbas is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association where he served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Hillsborough County Bar, 1985-86 and 1987-88. He is also a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation and Urban, State and Local Government Law Sections), The Florida Bar (Member, Workers’ Compensation and Trial Lawyers Section), American Insurance Lawyers, Inc. (Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Lawyer, Florida Bar of Legal Specialization and Education) and is a Fellow in the American Bar Association College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. He is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in American Law. He is a Florida State Certified Circuit Court Mediator. He is listed in the publication, Leading American Lawyers and is listed in the New York Times Publication, Florida Super Lawyers. Mr. Barbas entertains an AV rating from Martindale Hubbel and is listed in Martindale Hubbel Preeminent Lawyer list. Mr. Barbas is a Master in the Tampa Bay Inns of Court.
