As a Veteran of the USMC I am keenly aware of the frustration with any claim before the VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA) and SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (SSA). Never let a clerk do what an actual lawyer in a law firm should be doing from the beginning of your claim. If you are unsure if you have a lawyer simply ask, what is your Florida Bar number? If they do not know, red flag of a bad representative. Never hire a law firm off of TV, where very few are even "certified" to appear before the VA and very few have even handled a claim before SSA or the VA.

At any initial consultation you must speak to an actual attorney via phone or in person, otherwise if it is clerks only contact, another sign of a bad representative.
