After several phone conversations and flying to florida to meet with him, he agreed to take our case . When we ended our meeting with him he told us he would send an engagement letter to us, we would submit payment and he would begin our case. We returned home confident we had made the correct cho...ice and happy he was eager to work with us. That's when everything changed. He then disappeared and we had to chase after him asking repeatedly where the engagement letter was and he did not return calls or e-mails. Another oddity was that no staff ever answered the phone, so one can only leave messages and never be sure if he is actually getting them. Finally, after many attempts and practically begging for a response so we knew where we stood, he informed us by e-mail that "something came up after we spoke" and that he would not get to our case for a long time. We were not thrilled but said ok, to send us the engagement letter and we would send payment so that we knew it was in the works. Again, we did not hear from him and after many additional attempts to communicate with him, he finally wrote an email saying that we would be better served by a different attorney. We were shocked and distraught and could not understand what happened. It was in such stark contrast to how he was during our meeting when he encouraged us to proceed and seemed eager to take our case. This created a huge problem for us as we were from out of town and now had to start completely over with another trip to Florida (which he knew). We even asked him to recommend another attorney if he suddenly was "too busy", but he did not even care enough to respond to that. We did end up finding out that a big, obviously more profitable case came his way right after ours, and clearly that was what he was motivated by, even though he advertises and told us in person that smaller cases get the same care and attention as the big ones. WRONG!! I found him to be quite unprofessional in the disrespect he showed after the time we invested to meet with him, discuss details of our case, and the trust we showed in asking him to represent us, only to have him abandon us for a bigger case that came along. Here we were, entrusting him to help us settle a stressful issue, only to have him create more stress and make a bad situation even worse for us. I think it speaks volumes for his character both as a professional and as a person. Client beware!
