My wife was having delusions and mentioned minor SI and the hospital leaned on her sister until she signed my wife by proxy in under involuntary. The SI was a listed side effect of her prescription anti-depressant, not a legal reason to incarcerate her. They were excluding me, the only one with pre-s...igned HIPAA record and treatment access and she wasn't coherent enough to list all her meds or conditions. Mark and Lewis got her back out within 8 hours of starting the process. I personally visited to the hospital with my paperwork and it just got me lied to by her psychiatrist about the text of the Baker act and my wife not wanting to see me, she was actually fighting them to get a lawyer that would talk to her when she wasn't drugged.
