Definitely not Concierge

My initial complaint drafted by Dan Seigel was dismissed by the Judge because it did not have the necessary facts included. Dan’s response to the Court? “But this is the same complaint I always file.” That is him in a nutshell. Charging far too much for boilerplate pleadings. I provided all of t...he facts necessary to write a detailed complaint – he included virtually none of them. And when I asked why, he told me, “I do this all the time,” and shut me down. I spent thousands of dollars only to have my complaint dismissed and then I had to start all over again – and pay him for it all over again. No apology, no discount for the amended filing, nothing. In Court he was easily rattled and made poor arguments; in one hearing he actually argued the Judge out of ruling on our behalf. On two of his five invoices he billed me at the wrong rate (higher than agreed upon, of course). When I pointed this out to him, he was curt and defensive with me. And when I fired him and found a new attorney, Dan contacted that new attorney five days after sending his final invoice to ask if he was going to get paid. His rate was 50% more than every other attorney I contacted, and while he advertises “concierge service,” the only thing concierge about his service was his price.

The lawyer you want fighting for you

Dan was relentlessly focused and dedicated to helping me with a very complex family trust case. I was dealing with litigious family members and at my wits' end. Dan stepped in and used his many skills as both a litigator and negotiator to keep this case out of court. He kept me in the loop and update...d throughout, which I greatly appreciated. He is efficient with his time (=your money) and is not the kind of attorney who wastes time just to bill hours. Quite the contrary. This is exactly the type of lawyer I needed to resolve this outside a courtroom. I am immensely grateful, which is why I'm writing this review.

Top-notch

I highly recommend Attorney Daniel Seigel. He is an extremely effective litigator: No-nonsense, direct, and forthright, and great at discerning and keeping focus on what’s important to your case while shutting out the noise. He has an excellent legal mind, knows exactly what to do, and gets it done w...ith great effect. It’s so easy to get lost in the weeds of litigation—so many rabbit holes to go down—and so many billable hours. It was a pleasure to have an attorney who never took his eye off the ball, who was not only effective but efficient, saving us precious time, money, and heartache, and getting us the best possible outcome. We were involved in a nasty lawsuit involving family members and my father’s estate. By the time we hired Dan—after 3 1/2 years of litigation using other lawyers—it was an unholy mess, but Dan came in, assimilated all of the details in no time, and got our ship righted—something that I wasn’t even sure would be possible. On top of that, he’s a really decent guy, and he’s honest. If I ever have another legal issue, he’s my first call.

Best Trust Lawyer

After the recent death of my mother I was in need of counsel to wind down a complicated and ambiguous testamentary trust established for her benefit by her late husband. Dan did a superb job representing me as trustee and as a beneficiary, having to navigate a contentious relationship between me and ...my step siblings. Owing to Dan’s deep knowledge and deft negotiation skills, the trust was able to avoid costly and lengthy litigation while providing for a settlement beyond my expectations. If you are seeking representation for a complicated probate or trust, you will find none better.

I will forever regret using this attorney

This attorney charged us $475 an hour which is more than other top attorneys in the area who have 20+years of experience. We had to send documents numerous times and he failed to contact individuals involved in my father's estate planning until we were at mediation. One person he did call refused to ...cooperate with our situation because he said the Mr Seigel was extremely rude to him during the initial phone call. Just getting through mediation cost us almost three times more than any other attorney had estimated it to cost and we had to pay for his "mentor" to review documents (and the time that was taken to call his mentor during mediation). It was an horrible experience with an horrible outcome.
