Biography
I am a Florida and New York lawyer. I handle both criminal defense and personal injury cases. I moved to Florida in 2011. Most of my work is now in Florida but I still handle cases in New York as well.
In 2012 I won an important appeal on a felony drug case in New York, People v. DeYoung. Mr. DeYoung was accused of possessing 200 pounds of marijuana. The local judge refused to let him into the "Judicial Diversion" program. Although he was only sentenced to probation, we appealed on the diversion issue and won the case.
We also handle personal injury cases. In the late 1990s I was named a top trial lawyer by Allstate three times. In 2007 I won a $3.85M verdict on a motorcycle accident case.
One of our firm strengths is dealing with interstate concerns. Most cases, both criminal and personal injury, happen where all parties are from the same state. We have handled many cases for clients who are from other states or countries. There can be a number of problems for out-of-state clients and we have experience resolving them.
