Rating: 0/5 ​A Cautionary Tale: Avoid Kent Huffman at All Costs ! ​This is an urgent warning to both prospective and existing clients: do not entrust your legal matters, your time, or your hard-earned money to Kent Huffman. ​He operates with a massive, covert ego and a clinical detachment from the... people he is supposed to protect. When his services were engaged during an extremely dark, painful, and vulnerable chapter of life, there was zero empathy, zero sympathy, and zero ability to relate to the human cost of the situation. ​Instead, Kent operates purely as a financial predator. His entire business model relies on a calculated bait-and-switch: he projects a capable facade just long enough to secure your retainer. But whoever came up with a retainer should not be retained—the moment that money clears, you lose all control. Whatever services he asserts, he uses to pick your pocket. He will aggressively bill against that fund for complex civil matters he is fundamentally unqualified to perform, dragging out the clock to claim fees he did not earn and lacks the specialized knowledge to justify. ​He is a toll-booth collector masquerading as a counselor. He functions out of an ivory tower persona, viewing vulnerable clients not as people in need of a fiduciary, but as funding mechanisms for his billable hours. ​Do not engage him. Do not give him a retainer ever.

I am a former senior corporate executive with AutoNation, Inc., a former Manager with Toyota Motor Corporation and the owner of more than a dozen small businesses at one time or another. I have hired nearly 100 lawyers over the course of a 25 year business career as a corporate executive responsible... for hiring all outside counsel for 26 states on insurance matters. As an entrepreneur I have won two malpractice cases against incompetent lawyers. Kent Huffman way well be the third. He does not return calls, only communicates through email unless he wants to get paid, and has the poorest communication skills on keeping a client informed on his case, responding to inquiries, or actively advocating for you as a client I have ever seen. On two separate occasions I submitted settlement offers on cases which were never even submitted to opposing counsel. That is malpractice. On a separate matter which involved a loan modification on my house which was facing foreclosure he did virtually nothing to either slow down or resolve the process or assist in the loan modification process. In my opinion, Mr. Huffman has no business practicing law. If it were left up to me he would be disbarred. Do yourself a favor and don't even look at this lawyer for your legal needs. You will never be more disappointed.
