As a member of a court watchdog, I've seen many family attorneys at work in the Palm Beach area. I've been fortunate with my family attorney selection (I've only engaged Mark Frumkes, then later Dan Bachert, both excellent attorneys), however I've witnessed much incompetent and downright unethical b...ehavior by other local lawyers. The biggest complaint people mired in family court have is that their attorney never files anything on time. A slightly more understated complaint is that their attorneys are unreachable. Neither of these issues occur with Dan. Accustomed to lethargic response times from courts and attorneys, I was surprised when Dan filed all motions within 24 hours of discussion. More importantly he and his staff were diligent about keeping me informed case status. Because judges and judicial assistants rarely take citizens seriously enough to answer questions about their cases, having an attorney who can get answers and move things along is important. I also cannot say enough about Dan's knowledge of the law. Too many times, attorneys will give erroneous advice, or suggest that your position is correct, when it isn't. Dan accurately predicted the course and outcome of my case. Having been through a perilous divorce, you appreciate (or bemoan the absence of) certain qualities of attorneys. In my case, Dan was virtually perfect. I hope to never need a family attorney again, but if I do, Dan is the first I will call.
