I had the unfortunate experience of working with Steven W Effman, esq and I can confidently say it was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. From the very beginning, there were red flags that I chose to ignore, which I now deeply regret. Mentally I don’t believe Steve Effman is all there and com...petent. When we did meet, he was often unprepared, forgetful, referred to himself as third person, and seemed more interested in discussing his personal life than my case. The most egregious issue, however, was the dishonesty. Financially, he is very dishonest about billing, working with Steven W Effman was a disaster. I later discovered that he had padded bills with unnecessary charges, and when confronted him, he provided vague, unsatisfactory explanations and became hostile. Communication was another significant problem, Calls and emails went unanswered for days, sometimes weeks. Important documents were misplaced or delayed, which severely impacted the progress of my case. When I expressed my concerns and confronted him, he was dismissive and sometimes even hostile. Overall, my experience with Steve Effman was profoundly negative, and I cannot recommend his services to anyone seeking honest and competent legal representation. my case suffered because of Steven Effman's incompetence and dishonesty. I felt misled, exploited, and deeply disappointed. If you are considering hiring Steven Effman, I strongly advise you to reconsider and look elsewhere. Your time, money, and peace of mind are too valuable to waste on someone who clearly lacks integrity, professionalism, and dishonest. I also found 2 disciplinary action against Steve W Effman Florida bar cases Case no. SC02-1119 and was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2005. Suspension issued in IL, 2005 updated on 03/14/2010

Mr Effman took over my case after a terrible experience with a previous attorney. He quickly and confidently fixed the huge damage that was ...done by a less knowledgeable attorney, and put me completely at ease from the first day I was lucky enough to make contact with him. He kept me informed every step of the way, listened to all my ideas and expertly weaved our way through the very complicated and often times completely unfair family law world. Dont make the same mistake I did at first. I was frustrated, miserable, angry after my divorce and hired the first attorney I called thinking they were all the same. Dont gamble with you and your childrens future! Do your homework and then hire an attorney that is experienced, knowledgeable and caring. It can save you, frustration, anger and complete disgust and of course thousands of dollars! Mr Effman is the best and I am so glad I was referred to him. Hope I can pay it forward by writing this rambling review!!

Paid him more than 30k and failed with everything. Ended up hiring another attorney to finish my divorce. Makes false promises and backs out of everything. Take your money with unnecessary meetings and conversations after which he never follows up with the other attorney. If there were negative stars... this attorney would receive them. My 5 year old could've represented me better.
