My divorce was a very complicated one involving a business that we own and a house that we owned and consequently sold, as well as two minor children. O.k I'm just going to dive right in to make a long story kind of short. I've been with my boyfriend now fiance for over a decade. We decided to elope. Once we got to courthouse we were told the exact date of divorce is required if provided incorrect date and elope with incorrect divorce info I can be fined/charged if not mistaken. I've contacted several lawyers went to the courthouse in two different counties and they weren't able to find divorce record for me and it reflected in the county I married that I was still married. I did International search with Vital Statistics came back no divorce record found. This has been going on for almost a decade because I was adamant that I was divorced. It was stressful I waited so long to marry the man of my dreams to run into this?! I was told I wasnt divorced I would have to file. In my head, I was like again?! This cant be right.
