I hired this attorney as a low-income single mother needing help with a family court matter. We agreed on a set monthly payment. After payment was made, I experienced long periods without communication, including unanswered calls and messages over the course of weeks. I did not receive any documen...tation that paperwork had been filed on my behalf during that time. During a time-sensitive situation when I needed help seeking protection from domestic violence, I was unable to get a response and ultimately had to seek assistance through a local domestic violence program, where I was connected with another attorney. With that support, I was able to obtain a protection order. When I ended services, I initially did not receive a full refund of the fees I had paid. I filed a complaint with the Florida Bar, and after their involvement, I did receive the remaining balance. This experience was very difficult and not what I expected after our initial consultation. I encourage others to carefully consider this.
