After graduation from law school and passing the bar in 2014, Houson began his career at the Broward Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender. He handled 1000s of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors, DUI and Felonys. He had an impressive trial record and was able to garner numerous Not Guilty verdicts on impossible cases showing early his natural abilities as a trial lawyer.

In 2016, Houson was offered and accepted a position with Cox, Golodrino & Lafrance PA as a partner. As a partner at CGL, Houson handles all criminal and litigation matters within the firm and provides strategic planning for all litigation cases. In 2019, Houson decided to open his own law firm, Houson R. Lafrance PA, that focused soley on criminal defense and personal injury.

Houson’s hobbies include reading, college football and writing books. His favorite quote is “Excellence Demands Consistency.”

Hearing before the Florida Bar
Houson represented me for a hearing in front of the Florida Bar regarding discrepancies in my Bar application. Houson was diligent is showing me what I did to lead to such discrepancies as well as kept me calm throughout the process. Houson did well to keep me informed as to all communications I would receive from the bar. In the days leading up to the hearing, Houson made sure that my responses were appropriate and told the accurate story of why there were discrepancies in my application. The result was being cleared within ONE WEEK of the hearing and I cannot thank him enough!

Upfront and Honest
I was in a car accident leaving work and my car was badly damaged. I suffered some serious injuries and reached out to a friend to refer me a lawyer. She recommended Mr. Lafrance to me. I hired Mr. Lafrance after meeting with him in his office. He explained the process to me and my family. After I finished treatment, Mr. Lafrance successfully negotiated with the insurance company and they paid me the full policy amount. I am grateful for his advice and patience through the process.

Amazing Attorney
Mr. Lafrance is an amazing attorney who guided me through one of the most difficult situations in my life. I made a terrible decision and all that I had worked for in my life was in jeopardy. I suffered anxiety attacks because I did not know what would happen. But all the fears my family and I had were quelled as soon as I walked into Mr. Lafrance's office. Mr. Lafrance was honest in the assessment of my case. He explained the process and answered all my questions. He gave me a clear game plan and was able to execute it flawlessly. He was always available to speak and he never made me feel as if I was wasting his time. Everything that he said would happen through the process, happened and my case was ultimately Nolle prosse. Excellent Criminal Defense Attorney
I hired Mr. Lafrance after I ended up in a situation where I was arrested and placed on the news for a misunderstanding. It was a very stressful situation for my family and me, but Mr. Lafrance helped eased that stress. I brought a lot of family members to the initial consultation and Mr. Lafrance took the time to answer all their questions. From our first meeting he gave me a clear game plan and road map for how the case could possibly go. Within a few weeks Mr. Lafrance was able to get my charges dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor. I always was able to talk to Mr. Lafrance if I had a question or was worried about an aspect of my case. I would definitely recommend Mr. Lafrance to anyone who wants a lawyer who truly understands what you’re going through. I was treated with respect and dignity throughout the process.

Highly recommended
I hired Mr. Lafrance to deal with a criminal matter. From the onset of our initial consultation Mr. Lafrance explained the law relating to my case, the potential outcomes and the legal process I was to expect. Mr. Lafrance always answered my calls and responded to my questions very quickly. Throughout the entire process I felt well informed and felt that Mr lafrance was litigating diligently on my behalf. Attorney Lafrance was able to get my criminal case dismissed. He was able to act swiftly in obtaining the adequate information to then use his expertise to ensure the best possible outcome.
