Biography
Sarah Maya is an Associate at The Kreiss Law Firm, representing clients throughout Florida charged with Federal and State Criminal offenses. She began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender at the Broward County Public Defender's Office representing juveniles and was quickly promoted to representing adults charged with felonies. Ms. Maya then served as an Assistant Public Defender at the Monroe County Public Defender's Office in Key West handling major crimes. She personally represented thousands of clients charged with criminal cases ranging from battery and driving offenses to sexual charges and first degree murder, litigating numerous jury and non-jury trials. Ms. Maya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Florida, and her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. While she was in law school, she was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as an intern at the Public Defender’s Office in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.
