This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.
Public reprimand means the attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The Bar warns the lawyer in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.
Gary’s comment: “Sadly, this website red flags my practice without having ANY details of a public reprimand I consented to in a Bar Disciplinary matter. I am a member of the Florida Bar in good standing and I stand on my career of over 30 years of busting my back for my clients and RESENT this site for it's inappropriate, disproportionate and absurd red flag that completely ignores the many client and attorney reviews that reflect my true character and passion as a defense lawyer with a history of over 500 trial”
Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.
Gary’s comment: “This profile is under protest based on the unfair treatment I received from AVVO in light of their outrageous red flag, that appears to be a sign of a dangerous lawyer who should be avoided. Everything about my trial stats and history suggests everything but!!! Its a travesty”

Gary took my DUI to a jury trial. Our jury pool was the second of the day. These potential jurists were rejected by an earlier trial. We ended up with a retired bailiff, an emergency room surgeon, an angry old lady, and amazingly a corrections officer. Court adjourned for lunch and I told Gary I was going to prison ....he assured me would not. After an incredible defense of me , Gary managed to get a hung jury. He actually got a bit mad at me for accepting a plea agreement. He took the case personally and wanted to destroy the prosecutor. If you have legal problems .....hire Gary Ostrow , he is fantastic.

My review of Gary Ostrow is simply you get paid what u think you're worth. He could have done a much better job of defending the facts about my case to the state attorneys office, however my victimized behavior of a paid confidential informant played a huge decision on my part to change my plea of "NOT GUILTY", to a plea of "No Contest", resulting in me paying and received a sentence of 5 years probation. Am I happy? "NO" Am I satisfied? "ABSOLUTELY NOT!" The most valuable question is "Did anyone in this court room coherence you in your plea?" The answer is "YES". The only regret I have is not saying that when I had the chance...so of all the injustice in this world and the only charge I have ever faced, I am glad that I got to do it with Gary Ostrow!

Gary Ostrow is an excellent defense attorney! I immediately felt comfortable after my very first meeting and was treated with the utmost respect, which made a very stressful period of our lives bearable. Mr. Ostrow kept my family informed through each step of the process. I am happy to say that all charges were ultimately DISMISSED! Cannot say enough good things about this attorney - Thank you Gary Ostrow!

I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Gary ostrow over the past 17 years . I first met him when I was a prosecutor when he was a defense attorney. I had a trial against him and quickly realized that he was the best defense attorney I had ever gone against. Since that time I've had the privilege to work alongside him on other cases. He truly cares about every client and is passionate about his work. After knowing him for so many years and getting to see how he prepares for each case, he would be the first person I would call if I was ever to be in trouble because I know he would fight hard for me and he is still one of the best trial lawyers I have ever known.

There are only a handful of attorneys that I would hire to represent me or a family member and Gary is one of them. If your objective is to hire an attorney with a "10 out of 10" AVVO ranking, by all means go ahead. Be sure to send me your inmate # and DOC facility so we can be pen pals. Alternatively, if your objective is to stay out of prison, disregard the AVVO rank and hire Gary.
