Biography
We are a law firm offering personal attention to those in need of criminal and civil legal representation. Attorney Matthew E. Ladd is a former prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. He has won verdicts in both State and Federal Court. In his nearly 20 years of practice he has defended and prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies including violent crimes, child abuse, theft, and murder.
After fulfilling his commitment to State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle he served then-House Speaker now U.S. Senator, Marco Robio in the Florida House of Representatives.
In the legislature, Mr. Ladd assisted in the creation of legislation related to criminal justice, foreclosure rescue services, public safety, auto insurance, immigration reform, property taxes, homeowner and condominium association reform, and compensation for the wrongfully incarcerated. He also served as a Special Master presiding over Claim Bill hearings and ruled on the extent of liability of government entities in lawsuits.
Today, Mr. Ladd uses his unique expereince prosecuting and writing the law to defend those that may have had a temporary lapse of judgment, were wrongfully arrested, or need an aggressive defender of their rights. He also assists those in need of a variety of civil legal matters.
Mr. Ladd is a proud alumnus of Marshall University (2000) where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and served as president of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. After graduating, he attended Syracuse University College of Law (2003) where he earned his law degree and was elected vice president of his class and honored as a member of their Moot Court Honor Society and intercollegiate competitive trial teams.
Since 2003, Mr. Ladd has been a member of the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida which includes Miami. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, and BNI-Coral Gables. He also sponsors the Dade County Police Benevolent Association and volunteers with the Kiwanis of Little Havana.

Worst lawyer in town
Matthew Ladd is not only a bad heartless person, he is not a not a good lawyer. This man made me the worst plea deal. I believe a public defender could have gotten me a better deal. When my family would call him to find out information about my case, he would dodge them and made them feel stupid. I e...

Replied last February 13, 2021I wish I knew who posted this comment. I can only assume it's a client that was recently spared from going to prison and immediately released from jail because of the exceptional plea deal I was able to negotiate for him. The client was extremely satisfied with the plea deal when he accepted it. He even said I was an incredible attorney and was very thankful to have found me. We were able to get him out of jail before Christmas! Unfortunately, he seems to have violated probation by not being able to follow a few simple rules that the probation officer required. We saved him from being taken in on one violation, but it seems he managed to violate again. Instead of calling me, he seems to have decided to post this negative review. My regret is accepting his case. I work to get great deals for people that appreciate great deals.

Case Dismissed!
Not much more to say. I got a speeding ticket and a colleague recommended Matthew Ladd. For a very low price, my case was dismissed before it even went to trail!
