Billing Process Raised Concerns for Me

I would not recommend The Campbell Law Group based on my personal experience. When I first hired the firm in December 2024, everything appeared professional and straightforward. However, after reviewing the billing more closely and raising questions about charges I felt were higher than expected, the... dynamic seemed to shift. Invoices quickly reduced my retainer balance, and I was asked to replenish it once it dropped to around 70% of the original amount. This recurring cycle created significant stress, as the charges accumulated faster than I anticipated. When I sought clarification on specific billing items, I noticed a change in tone from the firm. It felt as though my ongoing questions about billing practices were not well received. I was informed that my emails were too frequent and that the firm was spending time reiterating information to me (time that was billable). As a result, my retainer was depleted sooner than I expected, and the work I had initially believed would be covered remained incomplete. The firm eventually withdrew from my case, which left me in a difficult position without legal representation. I encourage others to carefully research and read through the firm’s reviews (both positive and negative) before making any decisions.

PURE WALLFLOWER! She is all about making money! Extremely unknowledgeable!

I retained Ms. Campbell in February 2019 for a dissolution of marriage. Every invoice was paid without question for 6 months totaling in the excess of $85,000.00!!!!! I was under the illusion she had a strategy and end result in mind. She represented me for 2 hearings which resulted in a complete c...atastrophe for a slew of reasons. She showed late with her side kick pulling tons of paperwork, which was all for show since she referred to a fraction of it. Her courtroom presence was subpar to say the least. Her tone was purely monotone and nonassertive. She operated at one slow motion and repetitive speed. The OC and the Judge corrected her numerous times for attempting to admit evidence improperly. The CLG consists of ONE attorney which is Ms. Campbell, there is no group as stated in the title. Ms. Campbell was aware my funds were running out after spending $85,000.00 in 6 months in which she conveniently dropped my case without reason. Ms. Campbell had zero concern for the compromising position she left my 3 young children and myself to endure. When the money ran out, she dropped the case without a care. I had several acquaintances whom are attorneys review her extensive invoices and unilaterally agreed I was financially raped. I am going through an extremely contentious divorce and trusted my attorney. I did not challenge invoices as was confident she had the best interest of my children and myself in mind. I am a professional commercial pilot and have no experience in LAW. I was married 18 years to one man and this is my first and only experience with attorneys and the court system. I was taken extreme advantage of. Who am I to question her billing? When the invoice stated "10 hours for a proposed order," I reluctantly paid. It is my experience with this firm that billing is excessive and once you sign the contract the padding billing begins. I was over billed for subpoenas which were served to wrong addresses and blamed on me, The whole experience was a complete nightmare. I showed up for three depositions which Ms. Campbell was totally unprepared for. We had prepped days before and I asked her numerous times if I needed to bring anything, the answer was "NO!" I called the day before and asked her assistant the same question, again the same response, "bring nothing!" Days later, as the deposition begins and the first thing I am asked is for a list of items, which I obviously didn't have. She acted perplexed and was unprepared once again. Needless to say, it didn't start off well. As it continued, Ms. Campbell was occupied on her computer and was hardly involved with the deposition. I would not recommend Ms. Campbell at all especially as a trial attorney since she is a novice at best. For $85,000.00 I received several banker boxes full of unorganized paperwork since the firm does make copies well and wasted 6 months my children precious life. My soon to be X husband was on supervised visitation and to make matters worse Ms. Campbell managed to miraculously have me pay for his supervisor every for & long months. I would not recommend her to anyone ever if she worked for free!!!!

Professional and Understanding

After consulting with several family lawyers, I opted for the Campbell law firm because 1. best prices 2. Regina took her time to make it so simple for me to understand where I stood in my divorce case and what I needed to do, which gave me comfort and made me realize I was in good hands. I am extrem...ely pleased and grateful with the Campbell law firm for helping me during my divorce. Regina, Ricardo, and Laura were very understanding of my case and didn't hesitate to represent me even though we were against time. I would definitely recommend.
