Winston Inglee Cuenant

Extremely disappointing experience with Winston Cuenant. I retained him for an urgent matter involving active litigation and looming court deadlines. After paying a $2,673 retainer — which I was instructed to send via Zelle — communication became sparse and inconsistent almost immediately. Despite... repeated follow-ups, emails, and requests for updates, there was little meaningful engagement on the case. No substantive motions were filed on my behalf, no court appearance was made, and I ultimately lost confidence that my matter was being handled with the urgency it required. I was forced to terminate the representation and retain new counsel. What was most troubling was the handling of the disputed retainer. Mr. Cuenant later stated in writing that he would review the time spent, calculate billings, and refund any remaining balance owed. That follow-up never occurred. No itemized accounting, billing ledger, or refund was ever provided despite multiple requests and deadlines. Clients deserve responsiveness, transparency, and accountability — especially in serious legal matters where timing is critical. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Winston Cuenant.
