Representation Terminated Two Days Before USCIS Interview My husband and I retained attorney Ekaterina Mouratova after receiving notice of our USCIS asylum interview. Prior to that, on April 15, 2026, we paid $450 for a consultation that lasted approximately 15 minutes. During that consultation... we did not receive a meaningful case analysis, legal strategy, or interview preparation plan. After receiving our interview notice, Ms. Mouratova emphasized that it was urgent to submit a request to reschedule the interview. We were told that the request should be submitted by May 22, with May 25 being the latest possible deadline. Based on that advice, we paid $5,775 on May 21, 2026. The total fee quoted for representation was approximately $13,000. We explained that we could not pay the entire amount at once, and an arrangement was made for two payments of $5,775 each. Despite this agreement, we were repeatedly reminded that we had not paid the entire amount upfront. After receiving payment, communication became extremely difficult. Neither Ms. Mouratova nor anyone from her office called us. We repeatedly called and emailed seeking confirmation that the rescheduling request had been submitted. On May 31, 2026, we learned that the request had been submitted on May 26. We also learned that USCIS had responded on May 27, but that response was not forwarded to us until May 31. As a result, we were suddenly informed that we would need to travel to our interview with almost no time to prepare. No meaningful interview preparation was provided. We were not given clear guidance regarding documents, possible outcomes, or available options if the interview proceeded as scheduled. On the evening of June 1, 2026, approximately two days before our scheduled interview and the night before our departure, Ms. Mouratova informed us that she would no longer represent us. We were therefore forced to attend our USCIS asylum interview without counsel and without meaningful preparation despite having paid substantial legal fees. Approximately one week later, we received a partial refund of $2,775, while $3,000 was retained. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this attorney. This review reflects my personal experience as a client. Formal complaints regarding this matter have been submitted to the New York Attorney Grievance Committee and The Florida Bar.

Придя к ней в офис и рассказав о своей ситуации, Екатерина сказала, что у неё есть опыт в решении подобных дел. Я объяснил, что у меня должен был быть суд, но из-за того чт...о документы не дошли, Master hearing не состоялся. С тех пор у меня остановились ead clock и нет дальнейшей информации о следующем слушании. Я заплатил Екатерине 1500$ без подписания какого-либо договора с ней, т.к. она сказала что это повторюсь лимитированная услуга. Я отправил ей свои документы и данные. После этого она составила письмо и отправила в суд от моего имени. По-прошествии 60 дней никакого результата и ответа с суда не было. Екатерина также очень навязчиво предлага стать моим адвокатом в деле, но я отказался потому, что она потребовала еще 8000$. Эту сумму она предложила оплатить частями в течении 6 месяцев. Увы такого наглого предложения я ещё не встречал. Тогда Екатерина сказала, что мне придётся ехать в суд и добиваться встречи с court administrator. Я пошёл в суд и показав письмо от Екатерины мне сказали, что оно не соответствует требованиям для открытия кейса заново. После этого созвонившись с Екатериной я услышал от неё, что я ввёл её в заблуждение и не сказал, что мой кейс закрыт. А зачем я тогда слал ей все свои документы. Я адвокат или она? Я также был поражён тем, что Екатерина сказала, что по-A-number нельзя узнать информацию о кейсе и почему он закрыт. А для чего тогда существует номер eoir automated system?. Екатерина бросила трубку не закончив разговор. Попросив вернуть деньги, я получил такой ответ: если вы мне можете вернуть мое рабочее время потраченное на ваше дело, то можно было бы поднимать вопрос о возврате какой-то суммы. Вы заплатили за время и знания адвоката. Если вы далее самостоятельно не можете продолжить свое дело, обращайтесь к другим профессионалам. Я всегда уважаю чужой труд, но заплатить 1500$ за письмо отправленное в суд и не решив дело за которое она взялась - это мошенничество. Её уровень знаний и потраченное время не соответствуют такой сумме. Не рекомендую не при каких обстоятельствах.

What you can read below may save you a lot of money, and possibly your life. I hired Ekaterina Mouratova to represent my Immigration Case in front of Orlando Immigration Court about a year ago. The contract she provided was sign by me and full amount of money was paid. After reviewing my case, she to...ld me that my case was simple and clear and that the US authorities would not deport me from the US and that I should not worry about anything. No any advise of my case I got from the lawyer and NO any document that I sent to her was provided by her to the immigration court. On the scheduled day of my individual immigration hearing on September 21, 2022, she did NOT appear in the Orlando immigration court without any warning to me or notice. Not only did she leave me without money and without a lawyer in court, but because she did not submit my documents to the court in a timely manner, now my court hearing has been postponed for an UNDETERMINATED TIME. Huge losses and inconveniences have been caused to me by this lawyer and to my entire family because of her actions. The judge also told me that this lawyer was not registered with the court as my representative. However, more than a month before the date of the trial (August 08, 2022), she informed me by e-mail that she had received from me all the documents necessary for the trial. This means that she deliberately deceived me. Florida Bar told me that Ekaterina Mouratova is not registered with them and is not authorized to work as a lawyer in Florida. However, she continues to advertise here and on Google as a Florida lawyer. I'm not sure that somehow I get compensation for the losses because of this American lawyer. Be especially careful!

After receiving the money, I began to communicate dryly and answer questions, I sent the form only after I told her myself, which is why I lost 1.5 months. Does not comply with the terms of the contract and does not return the money after the termination of the contract. Real winning courts don't spe...ak as if they don't exist.
