Marcus Tan was born in Singapore but immigrated to the United States where he grew up in Boston. Marcus received his Bachelor of Arts in Marine Affairs, from the University of Miami. Marcus went on to study at St. Thomas University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2006.
Following his graduation from law school, Marcus began working at the Miami Public Defender's Office as a certified legal intern and upon his admission to the Florida Bar, he became an Assistant Public Defender. At the Public Defender's Office, Marcus defended misdemeanors, traffic cases, juvenile delinquency, and felony cases.
In 2009, Marcus opened the Law Office of Marcus Tan, P.A. Since then, Marcus has expanded his practice to include immigration cases and civil litigation.
Marcus is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
