Marcus Tan was born in Singapore but immigrated to the United States where he grew up in Boston. Marcus received his Bachelor of Arts in Marine Affairs, from the University of Miami. Marcus went on to study at St. Thomas University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2006.

Following his graduation from law school, Marcus began working at the Miami Public Defender's Office as a certified legal intern and upon his admission to the Florida Bar, he became an Assistant Public Defender. At the Public Defender's Office, Marcus defended misdemeanors, traffic cases, juvenile delinquency, and felony cases.

In 2009, Marcus opened the Law Office of Marcus Tan, P.A. Since then, Marcus has expanded his practice to include immigration cases and civil litigation.

Marcus is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association.

I dont even know where to start. Listen, If you were even fortunate or lucky enough to find his name or simply stumble upon his listing online then YOU STRUCKED GOLD!! Dont even bother looking anywhere else. He is the best of the best!! Most caring loving person ever. Has a heart of gold. Very professional. I was out in no time. I was shocked. He gets you a court date right away. I can write a book describing how good he is and i was blown away when he mentioned his fee. Best bang for your buck period!!! Grateful for the helpful consultation
We had a consultation with Atty. Tan and it went very well. He was very straightforward and answered all of our questions properly and decisively. He also offered advice of his own accord. We appreciated his openness (especially with this being only a free consult) as we’ve experienced a [paid] consult with a lawyer who wouldn’t offer any answer unless we asked very specific questions or we retained/hired them first, and in fact let us know the price tag right off the bat (this was when our immi process was starting and we knew next-to-nothing)—very off-putting and frustrating. So this experience we had with Marcus Tan was very refreshing. Thank you very much again sir!

Excellent Experience and Service!
I needed a traffic attorney due to a traffic incident I was involved in. I was up against the deadline to pay or contest my ticket, and I only had days within which to hire a traffic attorney. I was concerned that I would be unable to hire a skilled, professional, and pleasant attorney that would be able to take my case on such short notice. Fortunately for me, Marcus Tan was recommended by someone I worked with, he said the short notice wasn't a problem for him, and I could not have had a better experience working with Mr. Tan! He returned calls and emails promptly, kept me updated about my case, and got a result I was satisfied with. Highly recommended!
