Lower rate does not mean cheaper cost or better outcome

The legal strategies Penny guided us to were ineffectual, expensive, and not what industry would consider best practice. The court orders she attained were poorly worded and often became very expensive useless papers. I often felt as if she would talk in circles to extend duration of meetings and pho...ne calls. Her case load was so tremendous (60+) that she had no idea what my cases status was every time we spoke. Every interaction consists 30% of her catching up to where you left off on your case. All of which you are billed for of course. Furthermore, this lawyer performs all her own billing and will hunt you down for 20 bucks. I had a billing dispute with Penny and rather than consider a cooperative solution she got extremely defensive and started backing up all of her charges. I paid the money and now i dont have to deal with it again even though i asked her not to bill me anymore it was not worth fighting for me. Also, evidently Penny bills every single client when she goes on vacation for preparing a notice of unavailability....which i just don't see other reputable lawyers doing. You get what you pay for. Penny's approach made things seem impossible. Proving substantial change in a custody case seemed borderline impossible for penny even with the dozens of pieces of evidence. Half that time because she "didn't get the email." not too surprising if you have 1 person performing every single office function.

from the beginning consultation of divorced and timeshare I knew i found the right attorney would be a mistake not to hire her

I had consultation with her over the phone and instantly listens and showed the experience, passion to help clients reach their main goal with also helping people with alternative ways to start your case if not in a good place economically.I was served with divorce and timeshare request from and ab...sent parent, and was looking for an attorney that understood my side and what goals ultimately I want for the best outcome wish is to have my kids with me as they have been.but I could not afford at this time the retainer fee and she dint look at my case any difrent as many would. that showed me that is not all its about for her as others attorneys do.she work with me to at least start process and was verry impressed ,and happy to finally find an attorney that was so detailed and hard worker from the first meeting let me tell you,she really gave me confidence that with her as my attorney My kids best interest will be reached..She did all paperwork and told me how, where and when ..It's scary goin pro se, but that's my situation today and thanks to her my paperwork is in and in a such a detailed explanation of how to handle it.Thank Penny, for working with me on my financial situation and providing me an option to at least start. Its overwhelming having to do it alone and not the smartes when you have much to loose. I will recommend anyone on my situation that chose's to pro ce dont do it alone .hire her to help even if its to do some paper work hourly ,or let her help as she has for me. Will definitely have her defend me with confidence. SL

BY FAR THE BEST!!!!! PENNY IS A BLESSING!!!!

My husband and I have been fighting a nasty custody battle for over 3 years now! We started on our own and surprisingly won physical custody on our own. Howeve we were not prepared for the fact that this would be a continuous battle that is still ongoing!! I called Penny while serving in Afghanistan ...and she immediately started working for us!!! She gave us straight forward answers as to what was to come and the length of time it could take to get what we want. She also has worked with us with the cost of this type of battle!! She has been by far the most reasonably priced lawyer I've found!!! She has always worked with us and not just for us. She's even answered my calls late at night while on vacation with her family and come in to handle matters for us on her off time!! I couldn't imagine any other attorney doing these things for us and to top things off we've never met face to face!!! She has handled our matter with care and respect!! There has not been one thing we've come to Penny with that she hasn't made happen for us yet!! I would recommend Penny to any and every one no questions asked!!! If you need help Penny is the lawyer to hire!!! Penny will continue to be our lawyer until we reach our ultimate goal and I'm sure she will get us exactly what we want!!!

Do yourself a favor go elsewhere

I am well versed with attorneys, I have retained or been assigned over 7 lawyers for various legal matters. She made a horrible mistake, after I requested her as my attorney, she ask my ex-wife at her office if she wants to do mediation. In no uncertain terms did I ever mention this to her on our nu...merous phone calls. In fact in one of our phone calls, Penny asked me if I have ever done mediation, I told her yes. I had used Divorce Without War and it had cost me $1200( negotiations broke down) for one hour. That it was a waste. In all fairness Penny fields her own phone calls and has a lot on her plate. She probably doesn't remember who she talks to about what.

This person came to my office with his ex-Wife for a free initial consultation. When this person indicated, just minutes before our meeting, that his ex-Wife would be attending the consultation as well, I explained to him that his ex-Wife should not come to the initial consultation where he would be receiving legal advise on a case where she would be the opposing party. Thus, when he showed up with his ex-Wife, against my advice, and both of them walked back to my office to discuss the case, I explained the options of litigation vs. mediation. After hearing about both processes in length (including the pros and cons of both processes), he DECIDED that mediation was a better option for him. In fact, before he made this choice, he even asked me to leave the room while he discussed the option with his ex-Wife. The mediation, as public records would reveal, resulted in a settlement of the entire case, saving this person a lot of money, time, and stress. Prior to starting the mediation process, this person was well aware of the option to hire me as a lawyer instead and had plenty of opportunity to make this decision. HE OPTED FOR MEDIATION, NOT ME! I merely provided him with the ability to choose what method he wished to take for his case. Most clients appreciate being fully advised of their options. I ask that you review all my positive ratings below, which are a better representation of the quality of service I provide my clients. With regard to me answering my own phone, there is an office receptionist who answers the phones when I am in court. However, I prefer to answer my own phone when I am in the office. Further, I often provide my cellular phone number, which is what this person had, and of course, I answer my own cellular phone number. I take great exception to his libelous statement that I probably don't remember who I talk to and about what. Again I ask you review all the positive reviews below that show this to be a complete falsehood. I take great care of my clients and they get the personal attention they deserve. The one-on-one attention I provide my clients is appreciated by most.

Outstanding - Professional Attorney

I'm not one to post a review, but in this case I could not resist! Penny went above and beyond representing my Family Law issue. My past Divorce Attorney let issues between me and my (now ex) spouse go unresolved, causing me to have to spend a lot of $$$ JUST to move forward with the Divorce. Beca...use of this, I'm very hesitant in hiring a lawyer. When I first met Penny, she was very professional and straightforward - not trying to make promises that were unrealistic. In fact during Mediation, Penny went above and beyond to neutralize the situation and explained in a honest and fair way to both of us during Mediation. Every time I emailed or called, she responded in an expedient manner. In fact, I knew if she was in the office, she would answer my call herself - how convenient - no phone tag!!! She explained every step very clearly and when we asked for suggestions, she was quick to suggest something we both immediately agreed upon despite our past experiences!! We left the Mediation with an agreement we were both equally satisfied with and prevented a long dragged out mess!! A good lawyer is a rare find - I would definitely recommend Penny!!
