"I met Ed about 20 years ago when he was a newly specially assigned Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County SAO's Narcotics Division. I had a complex trafficking case with an even more difficult prosecutor (Ed's predecessor) and when Ed took over it was obvious that the State's focus went from "convict" to "be fair and do justice". Fast forward 20 (or so) years and as a defense lawyer Ed remains equally committed to his inherent values of fairness and justice. Ed's experience as a prosecutor (in both the Narcotics and the coveted Economic Crimes Unit) gives him a clear advantage in the defense arena (and his "connections" surely inure to his client's benefit).
