In short, I am a father who is actively involved in my boy's lives and attended every court hearing but one (the problem). I have made every support payment on time fo...r the last 6 years without any lapse. In short, I missed a court hearing due to wrong address and court error. The child support hearing should have never taken place as I was in the process to establish a visitation schedule within the court. Given that I did not attend, I was immediately hit with $18,000 in back child support. My passport was up for revocation, license suspension and in the worst case, possible jail time.
