Save your Money...Retain Someone Else!

Rachel came recommended from several people that I know or who are friends of a friend. I was very impressed with her the first time I met with her. She seemed very knowledgeable and understanding and the attorney for me. However, after the first month, it all went down hill from there. The lack... of communication from Rachel and her office staff is inexcusable, unacceptable, and unprofessional. This is my experience with Rachel and her office. I sent an email. No response. I called 2 weeks later. Secretary said she would let Rachel know I called & the conversation we had. Never heard a word. Called again a week later. Secretary said Rachel was not in the office that day; she told me to email Rachel & cc her. I did and the secretary replied back to my email; she said to let her know if I didn't hear back from Rachel within a day. I emailed the secretary 2 days later to let her know that I hadn't heard a word from Rachel. Still heard nothing from anyone after this email to the secretary. I finally called there the next day sharing my frustration with the lack of communication. Secretary said she would relay the message & probably would get back to me herself to schedule a phone conference if that's what Rachel recommended. Never heard a word back from anyone, again! When I called again a few days later, I spoke to the other office staff member. The one I usually talked with told this staff member that she didn't have an answer for me yet. The woman said when she had gone into Rachel's office earlier that morning my paperwork was sitting on her desk. A week went by and I still didn't hear anything. I called back on a Monday complaining once again about the lack of communication that was taking place. It got to be Friday and still not a word from anyone. When I called again the following Monday the lady I spoke with last Monday seemed surprised that I hadn't heard from Rachel as she said I was on the list of people Rachel had of needing to get in contact with last week. I encountered this same nonresponsiveness from Rachel's office several times in the 9 months I was with this firm. This last encounter was the icing on the cake for me... Rachel was supposed to email me immediately after our last phone conference about the couple of items that we did not get to address due to running out of time during our phone conference. Two weeks later I still had not heard from Rachel. That is when I left her practice and retained a new attorney. My advice to you... save your money and retain another lawyer! I wasted 9 months and my entire retainer with Rachel; I didn't get very far in my case and felt she was more interested in just settling everything instead of going to bat for me. I should have left this practice after being with them a couple of months. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Charged for work not performed

I used this attorney. She was okay at first but as time went on became more unresponsive. She charged me for legal documents which she never filed with the court. She charged me also large amounts for paralegal consultation for speaking with her front office clerk who I had to point out was not a ...paralegal.
