Attorney Leah MacLaughlan has seen it all: DUI, battery, robbery, probation violations, driving while license suspended, cocaine, trafficking, theft, possession, pretrial intervention, sealing & expungement, diversion, murder, capital sex crimes and the list goes on and on.
Starting from an early age Leah has always had a passion for the law specifically, criminal defense work. Leah believes in the ideals garnered from the United States Consitution that a person is "innocent until proven guilty" and strongly advocates for her clients to ensure that the State meets their burden in every case. Leah has had the privilege of being involved in a wide variety of cases over the years ranging from low level misdemeanors to high end/high profile felonies, Divorce proceedings and child custody battles, Landlord/tenant disputes, and civil litigation as well as cases spaning several other practice areas.
Leah completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut majoring in political science. Shortly after finishing her undergraduate degree Leah relocated to Jacksonville, Florida for her long awaited legal studies at Florida Coastal School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate with Pro Bono Honors.
While attending law school, Leah was involved in numerous legal groups including criminal law, Women's law, and entertainment law. She also volunteered for the Guardian ad Litem program where she advocated for childrens rights in the legal system, and participated in frequent philanthropic events including volunteering for the special olympics. She did all this while simultaneously interning for The Williston Firm, a criminal defense firm, in Jacksonville Florida.
Currently, Leah is pursuing her passion by providing legal guidance and vigorous criminal defense at MacLaughlan Law, P.A.. Leah is determined to aggressively advocating for all of her clients and their families. Leah believes in the Constitution and YOUR Constitutional rights. Good results are aquired because of Good work, not luck, and Leah is no stranger to good, efficient, and productive work.
