Freedom is something that is all too often taken for granted. Something as simple as going to the movies or grabbing a bite to eat at your favorite burger spot can be over sited or unappreciated. The truth of the matter is that life is a constant roller-coaster with twist, turns, and high speed drop...s. At any moment it can change for the worst or for the best. It is in those instances we can choose to hold strong or crumble under the pressure. I always choose to hold strong. I analyze the situation, come up with a plan and attack! Boy was I in for a surprise. This was going to take a lot more than what I expected. I found myself in the hands of the law and gentle she is not. The very freedom that is often taken for granted was about to be taken away. I was facing a maximum of 5 years prison sentence! Talk about life changing event. My back was against the wall and I needed council that was going to go hard for me. I don’t call myself a religions man, but I am very spiritual. I prayed and received a major blessing through a good friend of mine. He recommended me to Charity Tonelli with Tonelli Law, PLLC. It was the right choice. Our first phone conversation was very informative. Surprised an attorney would give out so much information. It made me feel like she genuinely cared and wanted me to win no matter if I hired her or not. After that convo I was sold on the idea of her representing me. It was a good thing too! It seemed like the very next day she was requesting court documents and setting up depositions with all parties involved. She got the ball rolling early not missing a beat. Her line of questioning against the Sheriffs proved to be a key piece in trying to exonerate me. She was able to pick apart the Sheriffs contradicting statements. They never stood a chance. Through her efforts in trying to find the truth she uncovered very questionable video evidence that was submitted by the Sheriff’s Department. It seemed like every other week something new was found. She put it all together and kept building the case. We battled with the State Attorney’s Office for months before we would get any real corporation. Even with all the evidence and motions, the State Attorney’s Office still would not let up. Every door that we seem to open was closed. But she didn’t give up even when there seemed to be no end. I can’t tell you tell that I would or would not be able to win this on my own. But what I can tell you is having Charity Tonelli with Tonelli Law, PLLC greatly raised my chances. This went on for a year and 2 months with the State Attorney’s Office not budging or making any realistic offers. We had no choice but to prepare for trial. And prepared we did. There were 5 mock trails done to simulate what arguments the State Attorney’s Office would present to the Jury. A very tactical and smart move by council. This was crucial in preparing for trial. We also had a very extensive exhibits list. She made sure we included various items such as CAD Call Audio, Dash Cam Video, and even their very own policies and procedures. It was important that the Jury sees all facts and evidence. We were ready for whatever the State Attorney’s Office had to throw at us! It was all or nothing and I wanted it all. It was getting really close to the end. We had one more court appearance; then we go for jury selection and after that the moment of truth. Only thing left was to Pray and Mediate. I was confident we would execute the plan flawlessly. As I’m looking at notes the phone rings. It’s Charity and there is calmness in her voice. She asks me to sit so I nervously take a seat. Charity Tonelli is exactly what her first name says! She pratices criminal defense and is so smart and kind. I couldn't have hoped to have found a better lawyer. She is not like the rest of those stuffy lawyers that get back to you when they feel like it. She is there for you. I can't tell you enough...! Embarrassing but I cried on the phone with her being able to console me. I had a basic dui wich she got dropped to wreckless driving. A $500.00 fine reduced to $25.00 and she was there every step of the way. She is still here for me now. Not like some who get u to court and you never hear from again. That means even more to me. Really now, I just can't understand how Ms. Tonelli can chalk up so many miles throughout so much of Central Florida while miraculously finding the time to do the requisite case preparation needed to win before the judge again and again! But she more than pulls rabbits out of the proverbial hat; ...indeed, she thoroughly and flawlessly addressed my needs as her client and exhibited true professionalism: such legal savvy, charm, and compassion!. This young lady is a natural in the art of jurisprudence and hopefully will launch forth someday into even higher realms whilst holding a judges gavel (and/or vying for elective office?). The entire public will clearly benefit by her efforts for years to come.
