Biography
James J. “J.J.” Partlow was born and raised in Sanford, Florida, and graduated from Seminole High School. He went on to receive his B.S. degree (Cum Laude) from Florida State University in 1991 and his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the National Trial Competition Team. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994, the United States Middle District in 1996, and was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1998.
J.J. is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Seminole County Bar Association (President, 2004; Family Law Section – Treasurer, 1998; President of Legal Aid), the Volusia County Bar Association, and the Florida Bar. In 2002, he received the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award. He served as a Chairman of the 18‑A Florida Bar Grievance Committee, is the current Chairman of The Board of Trustees for Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, FL, and is the Special Master for the City of Debary Code Enforcement Board. J.J. was recognized by Florida Super Lawyers in both 2014 and 2015. He was also awarded the distinct honor of becoming a Kentucky Colonel in 2012.
J.J. became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator in the areas of County Court and Family Law in 2006. He has participated in numerous family and civil Mediations, and is extensively trained in the Collaborative Process.
In addition to his years of practice in Family Law, J.J. has significant experience in the areas of probate and probate litigation. He has taken this experience and applied it to his practice in crafting wills, trusts, and other estate instruments.
