Steven Edward Quinnell

mr. Quinnell provided excellent service as it related to my mother's last will and testament the guidance through probate court as far as Expedition. As a beneficiary I do not believe that mr. Quinnell explained adequately to me his role on non role in assisting a beneficiary. That being said, I sim...ply believe that mr. Quinnell could have been a little bit more empathetic and not quite so judgemental. I am given to understand that he was not retained to act on my behalf it was to carry out the wishes of my mother relating to her last will and testament. Has my mother's caregiver for the last seven years of her life I feel as though he could have been more empathetic, and helpful just generally and I we're not specific to her will. He could have told me or given me the name of an attorney that could help me and also he needs to understand that he's dealing with people that are grieving and perhaps not understanding what he saying. Mr. Quinnell should gain some skills in that respect when dealing with elder law and grieving caregivers who perhaps are able to process information they would normally be able to process. Having worked the state of Florida in a capacity where I had to deal with people on a daily basis who were upset, angry, confrontational I believe that having worked in the child welfare , specifically Child Protective Services I have the knowledge base do identify the fact that mr. Quinnell does not have people skills and very little empathy.

I was very disappointed with Mr. Quinnell’s services. I was told he was the most knowledgeable attorney concerning Elder Law, but warned by one former client that he was slow and required follow-up. The initial consultation lasted about an hour and he and the two staff members all seemed very knowled...geable. He provided a couple of recommendations and we set up a second consultation. I confirmed the steps I had taken with my parents estate we agreed he needed to follow-up with my mother in the nursing home. It took over a year to make that meeting happen. Mr. Quinnell left with a signed document and another year passed with no results, never filled. I followed up just recently to discuss the status and emphasized that my mother’s health had greatly deteriorated and several things needed to be accomplished. I was told Mr. Quinnell was unavailable, but they would return my call the next day. That didn’t happen and unfortunately my mom passed a couple weeks later with the services never performed. A sizable retainer was provided up front so that’s only adds to the issue of something paid for but not performed. It's hard enough to lose your parent, but now I have to hire another attorney to settle the estate and take more time to resolve something that could have been avoided. I would not recommend the services of Mr Quinnell.
