I wish I could say better things because Melissa was my neighbor for years, and I genuinely wanted to have a positive experience when I hired her as my attorney. At the time, I didn’t realize how close she was to my husband. She took on my case during one of the hardest times in my life, despite k...nowing there were circumstances that made that decision questionable. Looking back, I truly feel like I got the short end of the stick. Anytime I reached out, I often felt like I was met with an attitude rather than the support and professionalism I expected from my attorney. Thankfully, that chapter eventually came to an end. However, as the years have passed, it has been difficult to watch the relationship between Melissa and my ex-husband continue. They are still next-door neighbors, so I have had to see and hear about interactions between them. It is especially uncomfortable seeing my former attorney pulling up to my ex-husband’s home, spending time with him, and even seeing her children coming out of what used to be my home. I also have concerns that she has continued to give him advice regarding our marriage and our children, which I personally find very inappropriate given her previous involvement in my case. Ultimately, I cannot recommend Melissa based on my personal experience. For me, it came down to both professionalism and judgment, and I did not feel that either was where it should have been. I genuinely wish I had chosen a different attorney.
