Good Man; Great Attorney

Introduction: My family and I hired Michael to represent me for a Post-Conviction action in 2013 while I was incarcerated at a correctional institution near Tallahassee. All in all, the legal process was long, complicated, and intensely contested by the State. The Man: From the onset, Michael a...nd his staff were extremely empathetic when it came to the psychological aspect of being wrongfully convicted. They always responded to all of my correspondence , and did so with compassion, regardless of whether it was a petty attempt to try to micro-manage my case or just a desperate desire to know what was going on. Furthermore, his staff took the time to meet with me face-to-face on several occasions at my correctional institution. I always felt like I was in good hands, and I never got the impression that Michael was not doing everything in his power to help me. Unfortunately, the duration of my Post-Conviction Relief action, (due to Assistant State Attorney delay tactics) extended far beyond my release date and several years into my subsequent probation in Orlando. Nevertheless, Michael's tone and dedication never changed even though there was now a 257 mile buffer in between us. If anything, the frequency of our communication increased and his dedication to my cause seemed to grow stronger with time. Upon my request, he personally came down to Orlando on several occasions to represent me at hearings even though a local attorney was available to be subcontracted out for such instances. He was always reasonable in his fees, and he never took advantage of the situation financially. The Attorney: I don't know where to begin when it comes to summarizing his actual representation of me. One word comes to mind: Wow! He was amazing and is second to none. It was like having some sort of legal psychic representing me. He was always several steps ahead of the State Attorney's office (regardless of who they tried to throw at my case) and he made them look like fools (in a professional manner) on several occasions. Prior to each and every step of my legal action, Michael provided me with a multi-faceted prediction of all the various ways the State might react in a particular instance in addition to providing me with his opinion of how he thought the State was going to proceed. He had a detailed plan for each and every single potential route and detour my case could take. Amazingly, things worked out almost exactly the way he told me they were going to. We won my case. Michael got me my life back. Michael Ufferman, the appellate attorney, is second to none. Anyone who tells you the contrary has no idea what they are talking about or is downright lying. I have a friend who is also being represented by Michael. Although his case is different in both stage and substance, I know for a fact that his opinion of Michael is identical to mine.

The Worst

Mr Ufferman filed 5 appeal extensions so he could collect all of his fee, leaving me in limbo. He also didn't have the common courtesy to tell me the appeal was denied by phone. He said he lost my number???? Finally he told me not to show up for my post conviction hearing because the state prosecu...tor threatened me. What a joke.
