Woman of Strength and Knowledge

In 2003, after years of living in an abusive marriage, my parents came to my rescue by picking me up and driving me to Kristin Adamson's office. I felt helpless and scared that day as I sat across from her. I recall her telling me that in all the years she'd been practicing law, I was one of the most... beaten down clients she had encountered. My parents and I began to tell Kristin my story and it became clear to us very quickly that I was in safe hands with a woman who was exceptional at her profession. I had not only an advocate in Kristin, but a strong, knowledgeable voice to lead me through a legal system that felt foreign and overwhelming to me. She immediately put me at ease and was right there beside me throughout the process of my divorce. She handled all of the complicated details ranging from custody disputes to child support and stood firm on what she deemed fair to me and my children. Throughout the hearings, mediation, and back and forth communications between lawyers, Kristin was very patient with me, always accessible and stood strong, helping me to find my strength as well. I respect Kristin's straightforwardness, she lets you know exactly what she thinks based on her knowledge and experience, wasting no time and expense. After my divorced was finalized, my children and I moved and with a fresh start, have had a happy life where I own my own successful business and my kids have thrived. I recently needed Kristin's help to enforce the settlement agreement she negotiated for me those 14 years ago and was impressed at how she remembered the details of my case and again Kristin jumped right in to help me; scheduling me quickly, returning emails promptly and has been completely accessible when I've had any questions. I have recommended Kristin through the years to friends and family and will continue to do so.

Much better than the "5 star" bottom-feeders

Numerous legal professionals have described my case as "particularly difficult". I made some well-intentioned(!), but very legally imprudent, decisions *before* hiring Ms. Adamson. With her compassion and legal competence we eventually brought the case back around to a very reasonable outcome given t...he circumstances. There are other lawyers on this site who have very high ratings by virtue, let's be honest, of having sold their soul to the devil---sure they'll act as your personal "vicious bulldog", but if your ex-spouse had been the highest bidder they would have been MORE THAN HAPPY to be his/her legal-services-whᴑre instead. By contrast Ms. Adamson is "straight up". Yes, she'll certainly fight for you when it is warranted, but she'll also point you in the right direction if/when YOU become the vengeful spouse going beyond what is genuinely, legally, Constitutionally warranted for the best interest of your children and your case. With all candor, if you are a poisonous personality who wishes your ex-spouse dead just because you feel hurt, you'll want to consider one of those nasty lawyers that come highly recommended by other bitter, spiteful clients. If however you are decent and reasonable human being who is in a regrettable situation but wants to reject BS from entering in from *either* side, then stop searching and hire Ms. Adamson today. Not to mention the fact that she is one of only a handful (about 8) *board-certified* lawyers for Marital and Family Law in Leon County.

I retained Kristin to manage a challenging child custody issue. Kristin was honest, forthright, empathetic, ethical and very well versed in family law. Her office staff was responsive and extremely professional. Kristin proved time and again to be engaged, on time and always a step a head in the ca...se. She is truly an advocate for children and Tallahassee's best family law attorney.

Trust

I hired Kristin to help me with what turned out to be a very acrimonious divorce, based on the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't sure of what to expect in the beginning and really had no idea of just how stressful my divorce was about be. Her knowledge, experience, and demeanor throughout the ent...ire process gave me confidence and she made me feel like I was her most important client. More than that, I learned to trust that she was going to do what was best for my kids and I. Since my initial divorce proceeding in 2007 I have been back in the courtroom 5 more times over various custody issues and I've retained Kristin each time. I'm not sure I could say anything more impactful to potential clients than this... I've trusted her for 10 years and counting. She will continue to be my lawyer.

Highly recommended attorney

In 2004 I retained Kristin to help with establishing a parenting schedule for my daughter. My uncle, a law professor at FSU and highly regarded mediator, highly recommended Kristin. In 2009 when the cards seemed to be stacked against me, Kristin was instrumental with helping my daughter attend the ...schools that I recommended to the court. Without Kristin, I'm very confident the hearing would not have had the same result. Furthermore, in 2010 we attended mediation to re-establish the parenting schedule and, once again, Kristin was incredible with the outcome where our daughter was provided equal parenting time between her parents along with several other issues that were resolved to our daughter's best interest. In knowing many attorneys in the Tallahassee area, I've found through the years that Kristin is highly regarded in the family law arena.
