Poor Poor Poor
I hired this attorney for a matter she claimed to have expertise in. She does not look in the best interest of her clients. She misses deadlines to file with paperwork with the courts leaving the client with no option since the timeline to file with the court expired. She has poor communication and c...

Above and Beyond
Ms. Footman and her staff are amazing - they have gone above and beyond to answer questions and keep me informed - while I am still in the middle of my case - I would recommend her to anyone.

Frustrated!!!!!
After many many attempts. Calls, emails, trying every way possible to contact Mrs. Footman there has been NO contact made. Every time I try to contact her at every number I have I get a message that the mailbox is full and then the call hangs up. I am on a deadline because one of the credit cards she...
This has been a problem client from the start. This client hired me in May 2016 to file her bankruptcy. All of the bankruptcy documents was completed and ready to be filed. This client had tons of issues outside of debt and felt comfortable enough to reach out to me for advice and I was very sympathetic to hers needs and suggested counseling. I spent a few hours trying to motivate her and lead her in the right direction. Within a few days, this client was calling and texting me at inappropriate times with issue after issue (not bankruptcy related), begging for loans, asking for a portion of the money already paid for the bankruptcy to be refunded. This client ended up in jail a few weeks later accused of attempted bank robbery . During this time, she called me from jail numerous times, her mother was constantly calling, included me a family group text regarding her incarceration (I was not her criminal attorney). This went on for a least a year. I stopped responding and answering the calls but maintain professionalism with her mother when she provided status updates and told me that she still intended to move forward with the bankruptcy. Once the client was released, she contacted me to proceed with filing (1 1/2 years later). This required an entirely new bankruptcy filing, I did not charge her anything additional as a courtesy, not to mention she moved 5 hours away, I would've had to file in another court, and drive down to be present at the 341 meeting. She indicated to me that she was still not ready to file, but continued to call. Last week, she received a summons for one of the accounts to be included in the bankruptcy and called me at least 15 times the next day and sent numerous emails and messages because now, the matter has become her urgency. I was not available on that day which was a Friday. I emailed her on Monday, still willing to assist her and ask that she send me proper documentation to move forward. Her response was that she still wasn't ready to file due to projected upcoming medical expenses that she wanted to include in the bankruptcy.....???? There's nothing more I can do for this client. Maybe someone else will be of better assistance. I've gone above and beyond.

Charges for work not performed.
I hired India Footman to do a chapter 7. I was making payments for the retainer and in the process my circumstances changed and no longer needed to file. I asked for some sort off refund since the chapter 7 never got filed. She refused I tried to compromise so it would be fair for both of us. She to...
I was hired by this client to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy in December 2015. Client had been making payments towards the retainer fee for at least 14 months. Upon receiving a very small down payment from client in December 2015, I immediately began working on client's bankruptcy. I successfully negotiated with client's financial institution for the surrender of certain collateral and retention of certain collateral although on cross-collaterized accounts. This is a services usually performed after the bankruptcy is filed but as a courtesy to the client, I immediately began negotiations since client had multiple items of collateral at stake of loss. Once an agreement was reached, I organized the surrender of the collateral and remained in contact with the financial institution for over a year regarding client's loans assuring the bank that client was still filing as the agreement to retain and surrender certain property was contingent on client actually filing bankruptcy. A week ago, client decided not to file and seem to think that since he did not move forward with the bankruptcy that the partial retainer fee paid was not earned although client has utilized my services for well over a year (much longer than the duration of a standard chapter 7 bankruptcy).
