Why do I help people with Bankruptcy?

 

After I opened my Law Office, I represented working people in a variety of areas. I did a substantial number of Bankruptcy and Debt cases, as well as Divorce, Probate, Personal Injury, and other Civil Matters. But when a very close Aunt and Uncle's family business failed, I knew I had to devote my practice to Bankruptcy.

 

My Aunt and Uncle had a very successful wholesale business supplying retail establishments with bakery and food products. Things were going so well, that they decided to expand in 2006. In 2008 everything fell apart. The unexpected recession hit them hard. Most of their customers closed or reduced their purchases, and my Aunt and Uncle could not pay their make things worse, they personally guaranteed their debts. The creditors were ruthless, and had no sympathy to their situation. I'll never forget seeing my Aunt and Uncle's confused faces as they dropped a stack of lawsuits, as big as a phone book, on my desk pleading for relief.

 

That experience had a lasting impression on me. I knew right away I wanted to exclusively practice Bankruptcy and Debt Defense Law to guide families through situations like that.

Mr. Mousa handled my case after a lawsuit was filed for collection. He was available for any concerns or questions. Excellent Attorney - Recommend
Very professional and understanding of the bankruptcy process! Kathy (office staff/manager) is very helpful and is a pleasure to talk to when you call the office. Help During a Rough Patch
We unfortuntely found ourselves having to file bankruptcy, We found Mr. Mousa after already having an attorney who took our money to mess up our case. Mr. Mousa walked us through everything. He had to clean up after the previous attorney and was still very fair on the fee he charged us.

Personal Guarantee Debt
I had a personal guarantee debt which I was unable to fulfill. I contacted Mr. Mousa 3 months ago to discuss my issue. Mr. Mousa reviewed my case and was able to reduce my debt to a settlement which was acceptable to both parties. Thank you for a job well done.

Helped make a hard situation better
I hired Mr. Mousa to help me with a bankruptcy when I just couldn't deal with the financial issues any more. I really should have done it awhile ago. He was very knowledgable about my options and the process and things went exactly as he said they would. He was also the fairest priced lawyer I called. I'm glad it's over now and I am glad I hired the right guy to do it.

Honest and Trustworthy

High Pressure
I had my first consultation about my options to get past a foreclosure. He didn't ask me about my sitaution or really what I was looking for. He didn't talk in reference to what I wanted to know. He just spewed off lines about bankruptcy. He immediately said I needed to do a chapter 7 bankruptcy, not telling me about other options. He said I needed to do it today because my situation would only get worse and the bank would begin to get aggressive and come after me for huge amounts of money. He focused so much on this credit program he offers that he didn't even ask if I needed help rebuilding my credit. He just assumed that my credit is horrible and I've never been very good at money management and needed this help. He kept talking about how I'd have to keep myself out of debt and learn to live within my means. I lost my job a few years back and the foreclosure is really the only thing I have. I had an excellent credit score before losing my job and have largely rebuilt my score already. When I went to leave, he wanted me to write him a check for his fees so he could get me on the books for next week. Very rushed and high pressured. He may be good at what he does, but he's lost my business.

It seems for you that I did cross over the line from urgency to take action as I saw it before you experienced major damage, to high pressure being experienced by you, which is of course a natural reaction sometimes. It is good that you told me about this experience since I will be more on the lookout with others when I am balancing what I see as the need to act now, before further damage happens, with how some people may experience what I say as being pressured.
