Professional Experience
Prior to starting my private practice, I provided legal representation as an Assistant Public Defender in Duval County. There, I handled an extensive and diverse caseload of criminal matters.
After leaving the Jacksonville Public Defender's Office, I worked as an associate in one of Florida's largest law firms, and my practice focused on defending large corporations and employers in accident case, slip and falls, medical malpractice and wrongful death, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination.
Finding that I much prefer to help people over corporations, I am thrilled to offer vigilant representation to everyday people at affordable prices.
As a member of The Florida Bar, I am authorized to practice in all Florida State courts. Additionally, I am admitted to the U. S. District Courts of Northern and Middle Florida.
Educational Background
In 2009, I received my Doctor of Jurisprudence from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to that, I obtained a Master of Science in Business Management from Troy University in 2004. My Bachelor's degree was awarded in 2001 by Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama.
While in law school, I received a Florida Bar Foundation Public Service Fellowship, which enabled me to work with the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida. At the ACLU, I worked on various civil liberties cases, constitutional issues, and provided support on public policy matters. I also served as President of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), and chair of the Community Service Committee of the Florida Coastal BLSA. Additionaly, I served as Executive Marketing Editor of the 2007-2008 Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal. Throughout law school, I was a member of the Coastal Law Mock Trial Team.
I attended Alabama A&M on athletic scholarship and was named the 2000 South Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Year. Go Bulldogs!!!
Personal Life
As a former volleyball coach, I still enjoy playing volleyball and mentoring young ladies. My husband, Shaun, and I have a beautiful black pit bull mix, Roxie.

She literally stole my money and laughed when I asked her for a itemized invoice where my money was spent. No surprise she’s gone.

"An extremely talented and well respected attorney in the legal community, I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a lawyer who knows the law and truly cares about protecting the rights of her clients and getting them the most favorable result possible."
"Having personally tried cases with Mrs. Golphin, I can attest that she is a dedicated and passionate defense attorney. Moreover, while some attorneys are apt to be concerned with millions of other matters, Mrs. Golphin does an incredible job at focusing on the interests of her clients. I simply can't say enough great things about her."
